There are plenty of celebrities that we know best for their acting chops and prestigious awards. However, the truth is that a lot of them actually started out as a model. This is not all that surprising since both lines of work share certain requirements. For starters, it is very common for Hollywood stars to be good-looking and graceful. As a matter of fact, you can say that this is the natural progression of things. Nonetheless, it is interesting to see how they managed to make it to the top of the TV and film industry. Some of them started out acting first before dabbling in modeling, while others did it the other way around. Others took on both modeling and acting gigs at the same time. Let us find out which celebrities took which paths.

ANGELINA JOLIE

When she was still a high school student, Angelina Jolie gave modeling a shot under the direction of her mother. She did not see much success in this line of work, but this worked out well for the acting industry at the very least. For two years, she trained at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. She landed her first leading role in a sci-fi thriller called Cyborg 2. It did not take long before she started bringing home awards and becoming an A-lister. Acting aside, she also directed, wrote, and produced In the Land of Blood and Honey. She has been the highest-paid actress in the world many times now and gets $20 million per role. More recently, this talented actress played the titular character in Maleficient.
