Alone by the sea, Robert sat on the sand, repeating in his mind the man’s cryptic words, “They come and go.” He tried to make sense of them. He tried to make some sense of them, but the calm of the ocean only added to the turmoil of his thoughts. What did this enigmatic stranger mean? Why was he so reluctant to speak? As he watched the horizon, the questions continued to swirl around in his head unanswered.
