Despite the fact that Princess Beatrice is funded by the British Monarchy for being a princess, she is in fact a working lady outside of the royal empire. Charity Work
Back in 2006, when Beatrice turned 18 years old, she expressed her how much she wanted to use her royal position to help others through charity work. However, this was the first time she planned on undertaking her charitable duties. Beatrice frequently joined her mother, Sarah Ferguson while she visited several of the organizations that the Duchess Of York supported. Along with that, Beatrice is the founder of Big Change, which is a charity that she established together with 6 of her friends. Their main goal was to help encourage young people to develop skills that are outside a conventional academic curriculum.

The Royal Engagement Ring
Princess Beatrice’s wedding broke a lot of the traditional rules, and we’re guessing it started back when she chose her engagement ring. Dating back to around 1923, the royal family has been using Welsh gold for all their wedding bands. Princesses Kate, Eugine, and Meghan all followed the 100-year tradition. So why is Beatrice’s different? Well her fiance to be at the time, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, chose platinum when designing the stunning ring. Regardless of the drama that may have taken place around the engagement ring, it’s undoubtedly a magnificent ring!

Vintage Gown
The 31-year old princess and her fiance tied the knot in a secret ceremony near Windsor Castle. Compared to their lavish reception that was originally scheduled they have a very low-key event. Her magnificent wedding dress is a vintage gown from her grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. Although a few alterations were made, the simple additions made Beatrice look remarkably royal. One of the best things is that the wedding dress was 100% approved by the Queen. You have to agree, she looked so beautiful!

Who Designed The Dress?
Everything about Princess Beasyreice’s wedding was done very different compared to all the past royal weddings. Instead of calling on the best of the best dressmakers to design her a custom dress, Beatrice went extremely vintage. The gown that she borrowed from her grandmother, was originally designed by Norman Hartnell. The dress was made from gorgeous silk fabric and organza and was then trimmed with exquisite satin and encrusted with diamante’.

What Were The Alterations?
Originally the gorgeous dress that Queen Elizabeth wore was made from gorgeous silk fabric. So when it came to Princess’s big wedding day, the dress had organza puff sleeves added where before there were simply just straps. Additionally, the hemline of the skirt was straightened and trimmed with ivory satin, but previously it was more of a puffball style. There’s no doubt that Beatrice looked like an absolute darling!

Royal Tiara
However, that was not all. Beatrice’s royal wedding tiara is also something she borrowed from her grandmother for her special day. The enormous, stunning diamond tiara was the very crown Queen Elizabeth wore on her wedding day in 1947 when she wed Prince Philip. Princess Beatrice absolutely looked so lovely and the way in which she paid tribute to her royal heritage was wonderful. She is definitely one of the luckiest royals, don’t you think?

Crown Jewels
It is not uncommon for the royal family to wear a borrowed tiara of their choice from the Queen on their wedding day. However, Princess Beatrice became the first royal bride of this generation to wear the exact same tiara that her grandmother, Queen Elizabeth wore on the day that she married the Duke of Edinburgh in 1947. This gives us another reason to believe that Beatrice really is the favorite grandchild, what are your thoughts?

Bridal Makeup
Princess Beatrice’s makeup for her royal wedding was focused around her gorgeous, fresh complexion and striking bold eyes. Although the specific makeup and skincare the royal used on her big day was not revealed, she has often spoken about all her fabulous go-to products for her signature looks. Among them is her Bobbi Brown bronzer and Charlotte Tilbury mascara, which we can only presume she used on her wedding day. Her whole makeup looked boasted her natural beauty which was so perfect for her private summer matrimony.

The Wedding Bouquet
The lovely royal wedding bouquet that Beatrice held at her nuptials was designed by Patrice Van Helden, co-owner of RVH Floral Design. RVH is no stranger to royal weddings, as they also designed the flowers for Princess Eugenie’s big day. Over all the years, the wedding bouquet has been a highlighted feature among all the royal bides. Beatrice opted for an arrangement filled with trailing jasmine, pale pink and cream sweet peas, royal porcelain ivory spray roses, pink O’Hara garden roses, pink waxflower, and baby pink astilbe. One of the royal traditions that the princess deviated from was the way in which incorporated color into her bouquet. Whereas in the past, many royals have chosen an all-white bouquet.

The Wedding Venue
The gorgeous couple tied the knot at a novel venue in a secret and private ceremony. After having to reschedule their wedding date, the pair chose to get married at All Saints Chapel at the Royal Lodge. It’s truly a beautiful venue and fits the couple perfectly. A Chapel is very much an intimate place and a lot simpler than what they had originally planned. It was reported that around 20 people (close family) attended the wedding. All guests complied with the governmental social distancing guidelines.

It was so important for Princess Beatrice that her grandmother was at her wedding.

Thank You To The Royal Supporters
Following the wedding, the mother of the bride, Sarah Ferguson sent an adorable double-sided tag with pink ribbons to a number of royal supporters of the newlyweds. On one side of the note had an attachment of a picture featuring the royal couple walking hand in hand through the quaint Royal grounds just moments after they had tied the knot. Edo is seen wearing his immaculate three-piece Huntsman morning suit, while the bride, Beatrice, looks stunning in her bridal gown borrowed from the Queen.

This is what The Duchess of York wrote: “Thank you so much for your amazingly caring and supportive messages for Beatrice and Edo’s future happiness. It was a glorious day; the sun smiled down upon them. We were all delighted to be able to come together and celebrate their love for one another. Beatrice looked stunning and Edo handsome—their love shone through.” She also added: “We are so happy to welcome Edo into our family and thank him for his love and devotion to Beatrice.”

Royal fans were also treated to a second unseen snap of the royal couple, a black-and-white photograph showing Princess Beatrice and Edo gazing into each other’s eyes. The small ceremony in Windsor was attended by very few guests one of which was obviously Beatrice’s grandparents, the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh. The intimate wedding followed strict health guidelines and only allowed up to 30 guests to attend.

Mrs. Mapelli Mozzi
Naturally, being part of the Royal British family, the newlyweds received many special gifts from so many people. As it was a small wedding, family and friends wanted to make it a special celebration. One of the very sentimental gifts Princess Beatrice received was a white silk robe embroidered with “Mrs. MM” for Mrs. Mapelli Mozzi. The famous Hand & Lock, embroidery house was behind this gift and they also took to Instagram and congratulated the beautiful couple on their special day.

In 1997, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie were both gifted a £1.5million home in Surrey by the Queen. The property named Birch Hall was purchased by trustees acting on behalf of the Queen, however, believe it or not, the princesses never actually moved in. Want to know the real reason? Apparently their mother, Sarah Ferguson said that she was worried her daughters wouldn’t be able to afford the upkeep and running costs.

Major Renovations
Back in 2016, Birch Hall was in fact put on the market for £4.2million. However, prior to this, it was renovated to include even more gorgeous and completely out-of-this-world features. The Georgian mansion is situated on five acres of land with endless lawn space, a tennis court and not to forget its very own outdoor heated swimming pool, along with a separate two-bedroom cottage for staff. The new owners of the mansion also added a games room, an orangery, and a home gym.

Traveling To Africa
Property developer, Edoardo Alessandro Mapelli Mozzi who married Princess in July 2020, also hinted at the couple’s future travel plans during his interview with the Financial Times. Mozzi said, “With time on my hands, I would travel. I’m continually entranced by Africa: the people, the colors, the nature, and the humility of the place. I’d like to see and learn more.” He went on to explain his desire and why it holds a unique place in his heart. “My brother and I spent seven years building a cricket stadium in Kigali, Rwanda, and we get such joy from seeing it used now that it’s finished”. Perhaps this will be the newlywed’s first destination?

However, believe it or not, but Edoardo is actually not the only member of the royal family to have a deep connection to Africa. Peter Phillips, another grandchild of the Queen, and his wife, Autumn Kelley ventured off to Africa in 2008 for an action-packed honeymoon. One of the highlights from their trip was at Tuningi Safari Lodge in South Africa.

An Emotional Time
During an official interview, Princess Beatrice of York spoke about her grandfather and got very emotional. She wiped away her tears, and explained: “Because he is the most unique person and I’m very lucky there have been so many times where I have been able to share magical moments with my grandfather.” Princess Beatrice attended the wedding with her husband and sister, Princess Eugine.

Paying Tribute
Naturally, Beatrice was not the only one to pay tribute to Prince Phillip. Her sister, Princess Eugine took to Instagram and shared the following; “I remember learning how to cook, how to paint, what to read. I remember laughing at your jokes and asking about your spectacular life and service in the navy,” she wrote. “I remember incinerating the sausages and you swooping in to save the day. I remember your hands and your laugh and your favorite beer.” “I will remember you in your children, your grandchildren, and great-grandchildren,” she continued. “Thank you for your dedication and love for us all and especially Granny, who we will look after for you.”

Another New Little Royal
When Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank welcomed their first child in February 2021 they chose to honor Engines grandfather in the most special way. They named their son, August Philip Hawke. His middle name, Phillip was specifically given to the baby in memory of Eugine’s grandfather, Prince Phillip. It is also a middle name the royal baby shares with Prince William and Prince Charles. At the time of his birth, he was eleventh in line to the throne.

British Monarchy
Talking about some of the other royals, let’s take a closer look at the British royal family tree. Many people actually underestimate how impressive the British monarchy really is. The House Of Windsor as we know it today began back in 1917. Queen Elizabeth’s grandfather (King George V) was the first Windsor monarch, and today’s working royals are all descendants of both King George and his wife, Queen Mary.

British Monarchy
British Royal Family Tree
Between 1894 and 1905, King George V and Mary of Teck had 6 children together, however one of their children sadly didn’t survive into adulthood. After the death of King George V, their eldest son, King Edward VIII inherited the throne until 1937 when he resigned as King. Following this King Edward VII younger brother, King Georg VI took over the throne for nearly 15 years. During this time, he and his wife, Queen Elizabeth had two daughters, Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Margret.

Big, Royal Family
Queen Elizabeth II
Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor was born on 21 April 1926 and is the eldest daughter of the Duke and Duchess of York (later King George VI and Queen Elizabeth). 4 years after her birth, her parents had another daughter, Princess Margaret. During her teenage years, she and her sister did not accompany their parents on any royal tours, as their father assumed they were too young to undertake such responsibility.

Marriage
Elizabeth met her future husband, Prince Phillip of Greece and Denmark when she was just 13 years old. They began to exchange letters, and this is how she instantly fell in love with him. The engagement only became official when she was 21 and was announced in July 1947. The couple were married on 20 November 1947 at Westminister Abby and received 2500 wedding gifts from around the world.

Acquiring The Throne
The couple had four children together, Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward between 1949 and 1964. During this time, Elizabeth also took immediate accession to the throne in 1952 after the passing of her father, King George VI. Queen Elibath was just 26 years old at the time. Currently, Queen Elizabeth is 90 years old and the longest-reigning & living British monarch in history.

Acquiring The Throne
Future Heirs
Not too long after the new royal couple tied the knot did they begin welcoming heir to the throne. The first child of Queen Elizabeth and Philip was born in 1948, Prince Charles. Just one year following that, the royal family welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Princess Anne. Both Elizabeth and Phillip made the decision not to have any more children until a decade later. So, in 1960 the royal couple welcomed another son, Prince Andrew. Many thought The Queen and Charles were done having children, but then The Queen gave birth to another Prince, Edward.

Future Heirs
Prince Charles
Charles Phillip Arthur George was born in November 1948 and is the eldest child of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip. As a child, Charles attended school rather than getting a private tutor, which had been the royal tradition up until then. At the age of 27, he was awarded a Master of Arts degree from Cambridge Univiserty. However, prior to this, Charles was crowned Prince of Wales and Earl of Chester by his mother in an official ceremony.

Prince Charles
Eligible Bachelor
In his youth, Charles was a charming young man who had many young women swarming after him. Although he had several potential courtships, it was very apparent that he had his eye set on someone else…Charles first met Diana Frances Spencer in 1977 while he was visiting her home as the companion to her elder sister. However, he never romantically considered Diana until he began to seriously think about a potential bride during the early 1980s. In February 1981, Prince Charles finally popped the question to Diana.

Wedding Of The Century
Even though their engagement was kept a secret for some time, Diana was thrilled and naturally said ‘yes’, just a few months later the two married in St. Paul’s Cathedral in London. It was frequently called the “wedding of the century” as the glamourous ceremony was attended by approximately 3500 guests and was also watched on TV by 750 million people around the world. At 20 years old, Diana then became the Princess of Wales. She then undertook many royal duties on behalf of the Queen.

Wedding Of The Century
Not Like Ordinary Royals
The couple took residency at Kensington Palace and Highgrove House. Just a few short months after Diana and Charles said their vows, Princess Diana’s pregnancy was announced. The newlyweds welcomed their first son, Prince William in 1982 and then their second son, Prince Harry in 1984. It was common knowledge that princess Diana wanted to give her sons life experience outside of Buckingham Palace, this was very unusual for the royal family and against many protocols. This, however, was just one of the many things that Diana chose to defy.

Not Like Ordinary Royals
Marital Difficulties
Sadly, just five years into the marriage of Prince Charles and Princess Diana, it was very apparent that their marriage was falling apart. The Queen and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh even hosted a reconciliation meeting between the two but regrettably, it was unsuccessful and the two ultimately separated. Soon after this, details of their marital difficulties became public….this seriously shocked so many people both in and out of the royal family. As much as many hoped Diana and Charles would work things out, the two ended in divorce in 1996.

Marital Difficulties
Prince William
William Arthur Phillip Louis was born at St. Mary’s Hospital in London in 1982. He is the first and eldest son of Charles and Diana. He too was educated at independent schools and participated in many sports such as football, basketball, swimming, and cross country running. Then, after attending Eton college, decided to take a gap year where he took part in a British Army training exercise in Belize. But it didn’t just end there, traveled and volunteered in many places throughout Africa.

Humanitarian Projects
Following in his dear mother’s footsteps, after graduating from university, William began to undertake his one public duty. However, he also contributed a lot of his time to various charities, organizations, and humanitarian initiatives across the globe. His projects involve a variety of different subjects, some of which include, mental health issues, reducing worldwide illegal wildlife trading, and certain environmental solutions around the world.

Living The Single Life
With his handsome good looks, Prince Willaim and loads of girls flocking to his feet. However, no one quite won his heart just yet. While William was a student at the University of St Andrews, apparently Catherine Middleton caught William’s attention while they were both attending a charity fashion show on campus. As soon as the two began dating the couple’s relationship was closely followed by the media.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge
Another royal couple we are all a lot more familiar with is Prince William and his stunning wife, Kate Middleton. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge got engaged during their trip to Kenya in 2010. Reports suggested the lovely couple stayed at the Rutundu Cabin at the foot of Mount Kenya and the two had a very special and romantic time together.

Another Royal Engagement
Unknown to many, Catherine and William actually briefly ended their relationship for a few short years before getting back together and ultimately getting engaged whilst on a holiday in Kenya. The engagement ring that was given to Catherine by William had belonged to his mother, Princess Diana. The wedding was then set to take place in April the following year in Westminster Abbey, London.

Royalty At Its Finest
Naturally, this was also the most talked-about occasion for a very long time. After all, they truly are one of the world’s favorite couples. Not only did Kate Middleton arrive at the ceremony with her father in a vintage Rolls-Royce, but her wedding dress was a real showstopper. As she stepped out of the car, she revealed her gorgeous ivory and white satin Alexander McQueen ball gown designed by Sarah Burton.

Sources close to Kate said the following, “Miss Middleton wished for her dress to combine tradition and modernity with the artistic vision that characterizes Alexander McQueen’s work.” The bodice for the dress was inspired by the Victorian tradition of corsetry, meaning it narrowed at the waist and was padded. Her train was just one of the many things that had people speechless, it was made for a dramatic entrance into Westminster Abbey. But compared to late mother-in-law’s train is was quite short.

Kate’s hair was styled by James Pryce of the Richard Ward Salon, she opted to wear it half up. She also wore a Cartier halo tiara, that was on loan from the Queen. Kate’s diamond earrings were by Robinson Pelham and were a gift to her from her parents. Lastly, the bride chose to do her own makeup after receiving several private lessons with Arabella Preston, a London makeup artist. There is no question about it, she looked absolutely magnificent.

Celebrity Guests
As this was a massive event, it was only instinctive that the guest list would be long and filled with many famous people. The list included members of the House of Windsor, descendants of Queen Victoria, and of course relatives of the bride. Along with many other people from all over the world, there were also a handful of celebrities. Such as David and Victoria Beckham, Elton John, Rowan Atkinson, and Joss Stone.
