To begin with, Burrell assumed that his late employer had given his blessing to the couple’s contentious decision. He said, “As I’ve seen this happen in America, I’ve been thinking of [Diana].” She must have offered the boys guidance and suggested to them, ‘Marry for love,’ which they have, ‘Be kind and kind to your partner,’ which they both have, but [also] ‘Be content.'”
