In a subsequent interview with Closer, Burrell explored something he had in common with Harry’s wife and his late mother. He said, “Harry sought and married Meghan because she is close to Diana.” Both [are] independent people who will never step away from speaking up for what they believe in.” Despite this, Burrell claims that Meghan and Diana’s resemblance would have caused some tension if Diana were still alive.

“I believe [Diana and Meghan] may have clashed,” Burrell hypothesized. “I imagine it would have been two powerful, autonomous women with opposite viewpoints. It must have come down to Meghan’s way and Diana’s way.” He did not, however, deny that the two are distinct in many ways.
