Joe Clark
Joe Clark was once the principal of Paterson Eastside High School, where he was nationally honored for the efforts he made to improve school standards all across the United States. As a matter of fact, he was actually the real inspiration behind Morgan Freeman’s 1989 film, Lean On Me. On December 29th, 2020, Joe passed away after suffering from a long illness. He was 82 years old. It was stated by his family that Clark passed away while surrounded by loved ones.
Phil Niekro
Phil Niekro “Knucksie” was a professional baseball pitcher who earned him a spot in the MLB Hall of Fame in 1997. He won the National League Gold Glove Award 5 times and his 121 career victories after the age of 40 is a huge league record. At the age of 81, Phil Niekro passed away in his sleep, however, he had been battling cancer for some time prior to his death. Just after the news of his passing had been released, the Atlanta Braves released a statement saying they remembered him as “a constant presence over the years, in our clubhouse, our alumni activities, and throughout Braves Country.”
