Ken Spears
Ken Spears, the co-creator of the Scooby-Doo franchise for Hanna-Barbera, died on November 6 at the age of 82 from Lewy body dementia. Dynomutt, Dog Wonder, Captain Caveman, and Jabberjaw were all created by him and his business partner Joe Ruby, who perished in August. Alvin and the Chipmunks, a Saturday morning cartoon, was also created by the duo.
Eddie Hassell
Eddie Hassell, an actor best known for starring in the films The Kids Are All Right and Surface, was shot out the front of his girlfriend’s apartment at the age of 30. Devious Maids, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, Bones, and Longmire all featured Hassell. In 2013, he had a small part in the Ashton Kutcher-led film Jobs.
