Although he was leapfrogged in the Fame Department by his son, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Rocky Johnson was the actual professional wrestler of the family. Born in Canada, Rocky started his wrestling career in 1964, winning multiple National Wrestling Alliance titles. The duo won the 1983 World Tag Team Championship in 1983, alongside tag team partner Tony Atlas, and became World Wrestling Entertainment’s first black champions. Johnson died of pulmonary embolism, claiming in early January 2020 that he had a visitor appointment for the prospective doctor’s visit.
