Have you ever watched James May’s Cars to the People? If so, we are sure that you noticed the Chrysler Turbine Car. Jay Leno introduced it a couple of years ago. It was a unique car, if a bit of an amalgamation. Its body was the creation of an Italian design studio called Ghia, and Chrysler worked on its engine in Detroit. The Turbine had an A-831 airplane engine that proved beneficial since it did not require a lot of maintenance. On top of that, it lasted longer than a regular car engine and could run on many different fuels. Sadly, Chrysler decided to halt production in 1979 because it was such a loud and gas-guzzling car. The original value of this car was $50,000 to $55,000, but it is now worth $415,000.

It turns out that Jay Leno did not exactly buy this one intentionally. He had been looking for an Aston Martin DB5 but stumbled upon a Maserati 3500 GT. It had been in storage for twenty years and boasted 100,000 miles. It was going to need a lot of work, but the talk show host fell in love with its body and paint job. He paid $25,000 for it, which is unbelievable since it is now worth $269,000. Its restoration involved adding a new fuel injection system, throttle, and more. He decided to keep most of it original, although he did replace the radiator and shocks altogether. In 1962, buyers could get one for $25,000.
