In terms of classic cars, the talk show host has admitted that he is particularly fond of his 427 Shelby Cobra. The 1966 Ford classic had actually been the subject of a challenge between Elon Musk of Tesla Motors and Jay Leno! The latter challenged the former to a race by pitting the older Cobra against the Tesla S P85D. For the sake of comparison, the Cobra can go from 0 to 60 in 4.5 seconds, while the Tesla can do the same thing in 2.6 seconds. It was clear that Leno had only been kidding, but it would have been fun to watch! Before he bought the dark-blue Cobra, it made its debut at Pebble Beach in 2012.

1906 Advance Steam Traction Engine
This is one of the cars that make up his “Steam Room,” the section of Big Dog Garage where he keeps his steam-powered vehicles. The 1906 Advance Steam Traction Engine predates cars as we know them now. According to Jay Leno, he acquired this piece of machinery not only because he is a car enthusiast but because he is a history buff as well! He showed Hemmings around and said that this vehicle used tech that England had been guarding “like it was NASA.” The 1906 Engine is very heavy at 13 tons, which is equivalent to 26,000 pounds. The reverse is the only available gear change, while the top speed is 4 mph. On top of that, it has no brakes! It used to be worth $260 but can now sell for $7,473. Cool, huh?
