No one likes getting a slap but if it’s coming from your dog it is not quite the same. Your dog is not angry with you but rather trying to command your attention. When a dog slaps another dog this is a sign of trust- just as we humans pat each other on the back, it is the equivalent.

If your dog comes in for a little cuddle after eating they are showing pure affection and adoration for you. Just as we do, after eating a good meal a dog usually wants to head for a nap. No better place than right next to or in the arms of their favorite human. The more cuddling the better.
