Pacing Back And Forth

Pacing can be because they are bored, excited or nervous.  Dogs enjoy pacing just as humans do. However, when moving around in circles it is probably letting you know that they want to play. That’s why dogs chase after one another when they first come in to contact, to signal playfulness and excitement!

Pointing Their Snout

That sequence when a dog halts and points it’s snout towards something, potentially lifting a front paw too, is extremely common amongst hunting breeds. However, almost all dogs do this. “Dogs are just dogs, and there are certain behaviors that probably any dog that’s a dog can do…. You’ll see a sporting dog who circles like a herding dog, and you’ll get some herding dogs who point,” said Dr. Ellen Vindell.
