4,400-Year Asleep
The intricately carved burial place of a high priest — Wahtye — was left completely undamaged and out of sight for 4,400 years. He was assigned by royalty, King Neferirkare Kakai, as a high-ranking member of the priesthood in the Fifth Dynasty.
