Sydney used bulky turtleneck sweaters while she was staying in Maryland to cover them up. She also worked in restaurant jobs behind the scenes, to avoid undesirable attention. She was still very reluctant to show off her rings at the heart.

A friend of hers designs the rings. These are all soldered around her neck, but in case of medical crises, these have a unique screw so that they can be removed when needed. Though it is removable, Sydney does not take it off, it is always attached to her.
