After appearing in the successful TV show as Gomer Pyle, Nabors received a lot of offers coming from producers and directors asking his appearance in their shows and films. The actor was allowed to star in a descendant show to The Andy Griffith Show which has the title, Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C. In the middle of 2013, the actor made an announcement saying that he is gay and he has a partner. It was very courageous of him to come out, and fans gladly accepted him.
