No More Appearances In The Andy Griffith Show
No one expected The Andy Griffith Show to be that successful to the point that it extended until eight seasons. Well, years after being a part of the famous sitcom, Knotts had come to a decision to say goodbye to the whole cast as he chose to sign a contract with Universal Pictures. It was very hard for everyone. It was difficult for the cast because they lost one of the show’s greatest characters and of course, it was not easy for Knotts as he loved everything about the show.
He Had A Chance To Stay
Out of a lot of people’s knowledge, Don Knotts came up with a deal that he hoped to make with Andy Griffith. He told his co-star slash friend that he could stay in the show as a part of the production team. In that way, Knotts could still be affiliated with The Andy Griffith Show and at the same time, he could also work with Universal Pictures. Well, with no confirmed reasons, Griffith refused to take Don Knotts’ offer. With that, everyone had to move on.
