He Could Not Wake Her Up
When Ryan spoke to Brad, he claimed he did not know the reason he did it. More often than not, he would sleep late on Saturdays and Sundays. However, something strange happened on that day. His instinct told him that it was best to wake her to see if she was okay. He was surprised to find that she did not awaken even when he yelled for her or shook her. He bent in to decide whether she was still alive.

After watching her for some time, he realized with terror that she was not breathing. Once Ryan realized what he had to do to get out of the situation, he called 911. Since he called the cops, he conducted CPR on Jill. He felt grateful that he had the requisite life skills, even if he had not heard about them lately. He pounded her before he had what he was taught during the lesson. This was the first time that he has really wanted to use this strategy.
