That fateful night, Crystal was out with her friends just like any other day. They spent time together until midnight when Crystal ran away. She took whatever little she had and made her way to the bus to New York. And so, she began her new life.

First Child
It wasn’t long before Crystal became pregnant with her first child. With her new identity, Crystal was able to get herself a Medicaid card. She would go on to have three more children. While in New York, she became a part of the Dominican community.
