Nadya had already become a media spectacle before her octuplets were born, with news channels, websites, and newspapers all covering her unusual pregnancy. People began to recognize her, and despite the fact that some didn’t know her real name, almost everyone knew her as Octomom. Nadya tried to keep control of the story and the various reports about her, and she deemed using the exposure to help support her huge family financially. She hired a team to manage her public relations after the birth of her octuplets in the hopes of being able to monitor the story that was shared publicly, but this was confirmed to be a hard process.

Meanwhile, Nadya was preoccupied with adjusting to her new public persona and raising fourteen children! With time, she found that dealing with her celebrity became more difficult. Her pregnancy and delivery were contentious enough, but Californians also accused Nadya of squandering taxpayer funds and embracing practically everything that is wrong with modern America, and she was even threatened!
