Despite the fact that IVF (in vitro fertilization) isn’t particularly difficult, its success rate isn’t 100%, and it comes at a high cost. These factors, however, did not deter Nadya in the least, as she was already tired of failing at this point. In terms of the procedure, most doctors recommend fertilizing a large number of eggs to increase the chances of fertilization success. Actually, the procedure carried a significant additional risk for Nadya, but would she accept it?

Before undergoing the IVF procedure, Nadya Suleman had to consider one very important factor: the possibility of getting numerous babies in the pregnancy, given the possibility that all of the multiple fertilized eggs implanted would survive. In fact, this makes pregnancy extremely risky, but Nadya was determined to start her own family, and her motto appears to be “the more, the merrier.” Despite this, some people thought Nadya should have been concerned, even if only a little, about being pregnant with multiple children at the same time. With hindsight, one could argue that the outcome was anyone’s guess.
