Julie Gibson was born in Washington and she used her talent in singing and acting to rise to fame. She started her career in the Jimmie Grier Orchestra. She later joined the radio program of Joe Penner. At first, she accepted small roles until she was eventually offered better parts in different productions. She is considered one of the oldest surviving celebrity of the Golden Age.
