The Figure’s Description
While Bernadette does not appear to have provided a comprehensive account of the apparition, her sister, Marie, does. According to Taylor’s 2003 biography, Bernadette of Lourdes: Her Life, Death, and Visions, the young woman described the figure as “a small young lady.” According to her, the ghost was also wearing a white shawl and a blue belt, which she described as “amazing.” Bernadette also claimed to recall seeing a golden flower on each of the figure’s feet, which is a common feature of religious portrayals of the Virgin Mary, according to her.
The Revelation Of The Vision
On the other hand, Bernadette didn’t appear to have a clear idea of who the enigmatic apparition was until one of her final glimpses, which occurred after she had died. During the hour-long encounter, the Frenchwoman claims she continuously inquired about the identity of the mysterious apparition. “I am the Immaculate Conception,” the vision, it appears, revealed to the subject. Bernadette would never say that the Virgin Mary had talked to her or that she had received a message from her.
