The parts that made sense, on the other hand, included heretical assertions that would have gotten Sister Maria into serious trouble. Why? If she hadn’t been possessed, she might have been a member of the underground resistance. Alternatively, you could be a liar. Alternatively, a fragment of her mind may have detached from the rest.

Sister Maria’s letter, on the other hand, isn’t the only supposed example of demonic writing to have been discovered. According to the author, the Devil in Britain and America, written by John Ashton and published in 1896, was said to contain a copy of “the only known specimen of the Devil’s handwriting,” according to the author. It was this sample, in turn, that was sourced from a 16th-century Latin tome titled Introduction to the Languages of Chaldean, Syrian, and Armenian and the Ten Other Languages, which was written in a variety of dialects. Was this the same as Sister Maria’s ring, or something else?
