Reagan’s Assassination Attempt
On March 30th, 1981, John Hinckley Jr. attempted to assassinate President Ronald Reagan. Contrary to popular belief, the would-be assassin targeted the president in order to impress young actress Jodie Foster. A ricocheted bullet struck the president, but he was unharmed. Later he would say to his wife, “I forgot to duck.”
