You have probably watched a film and stopped to think, “Is that what I think it is?” After that, maybe you paused, rewound, and checked to see if your suspicions were right. Maybe it was a scene that was weird or amazing enough to watch several times. Maybe it was a production error or a hidden message. What we can tell you is that there are plenty of moments that will make you stop in the world. Let us check out some of them!

You Might Have Missed These Movie Secrets When You First Watched These Films
Basic Instinct (1992)
Basic Instinct is an erotic thriller that came out in 1992. Sharon Stone portrayed Catherine Tramell in the movie, which gave rise to her role as a Hollywood sex symbol. Many filmgoers are huge fans of a particular scene in the movie. We are talking about the scene in which the police had been interrogating her when she was deemed the prime suspect in the murder case of her boyfriend. She tried to seduce and distract the cop by crossing her legs and exposing herself as she did so. We are sure that plenty of people hit the pause button to take another look at this scene!

Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982)
Jennifer Jason Leigh was the actress who brought Stacy Hamilton to life in the 1982 film called Fast Times at Ridgemont High. The movie follows an inexperienced teen who is ready to enter the dating scene. She decided to follow the advice given to her by her best friend, who was portrayed by actress Phoebe Cates. Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982)
Psycho (1960)
We are sure that you have heard plenty of things about the 1960 thriller Psycho, which was directed and produced by Alfred Hitchcock. However, you might not know that it was based on the true story of Marian Crane. She disappeared after she stole $40,000 from her place of employment. When she arrived at Bates Motel, the viewers found out that the hotel owner was a murderer by the name of Norman Bates. The scene is probably one of the most paused ones in movie history. This is not the shower scene but one of the final moments. Hitchcock showed us all just how depraved and evil Norman was when the police caught him at last. When he faced the camera, there was a skull over his face! This only went on for a split second, so you really have to be observant to notice this.

Psycho (1960)
Three Men and a Baby (1987)
Three Men and Baby was a rather weird movie, not only for its plotline and the fact that it was directed by Leonard Nimoy of Star Trek fame. There was an iconic scene in the film that made people hit the pause button and rewind. The wacky plot revolves around three bachelors who find a mysterious baby on the doorstep and agree to raise it. The most bizarre part of the movie has to be the scene in which Ted Danson and his fictional mother gaze at the baby happily as someone looks back through the window drapes. People thought that it was a ghost, but there is also a rumor that it was nothing more than a Ted Danson cardboard cut that someone on the set forgot about.

Three Men and a Baby (1987)
Pulp Fiction (1994)
We are sure that you expected to find a film by Quentin Tarantino on our list! The filmmaker is best known for non-linear storytelling, so it might not come as a surprise to hear that Pulp Fiction had plenty of continuity errors. There are many iconic scenes in the movie such as the one in which John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson dodged bullets fired by a roommate in the bathroom. Before the hitmen were commended for escaping, viewers noticed that there were bullet holes on the wall before the shootout even started. This might actually be one of the most famous continuity errors out there. Many people heard about this and have paused during the scene to see if this was true. Just so you know, it is!

Pulp Fiction (1994)
Wild Things (1998)
We added Wild Things for the scene in which Denise Richards and Neve Campbell are exchanging passionate kisses in the swimming pool. This was a movie that was guaranteed to flop unless it gave the members of the audience something to remember. This scene was simply fantasy fodder, simple as that.

Wild Things (1998)
Titanic (1997)
Ever since Titanic came out in 1997, filmgoers across the years have been swooning over it. It was a film about an epic romance that took place during a disaster in the Atlantic sea. What else could we ask for? It won 11 Oscars, which is all you need to know just how big this movie was and still is. We also got swept up in the romance between Rose and Jack. She admired his images of naked Parisian ladies. She then asked him to draw her, and they slept together. We do not doubt that plenty of people hit the pause button when this scene came on!

Titanic (1997)
Boogie Nights (1997)
At long last, we have a movie that proved that you do not need nudity to catch the attention of the audience. Boogie Nights starred Mark Wahlberg in the role of Eddie Addams, a teen who turned into an adult movie star after a porn director discovered him. The film had a lot of OMG-inducing moments, although the best part was near the end of the movie. Dirk Diggler, the onscreen persona of the main character, reached into his trousers and showed the camera crew his manhood. Even though the actor wore a prosthetic for this, many viewers could not help but pause it and take it all in.

Boogie Nights (1997)
Before I Go to Sleep (2014)
Before I Go To Sleep is a 2014 psychological thriller that starred Nicole Kidman as Christine Lucas, an amnesiac who loses her memories whenever she goes to bed. Even though the movie was not a critical hit, it definitely captured our attention. We cannot deny that there is something enjoyable about seeing one of the most glamorous actresses in Hollywood in her natural state. However, there was one scene that received more pauses than usual. We are referring to the scene in which the actress stood naked as she looked at all the photos on the wall!

Before I Go to Sleep (2014)
Peter Pan (1953)
When we were little kids, so many scandalous things hidden in Disney movies went over our heads. However, there are fans who decided to point out something shady in one of the most beloved animated films. In the 1953 animated adaptation of Peter Pan, the title character lived in Neverland with the Lost Boys, Tinker Bell, and his shadow. There was a scene in which he did a jig to demonstrate that he sewed his feet to his shadow to keep them together. You might miss it if you blink, but there was an outline of his private parts for a brief second.

Peter Pan (1953)
Star Wars: A New Hope (1977)
In general, people cannot seem to stop talking about the Star Wars franchise. We want you to focus on a particular scene in the first installment, Episode IV: A New Hope. You probably remember when Luke Skywalker saved Han Solo as the rest of the crew saved Princess Leia from imprisonment on the Death Star. As they hid there, Stormtroopers boarded the ship and searched it. If you watch it closely, you will see that one of them hit the doorframe! This has become a popular film popular. We love the fact that George Lucas decided to add a bang sound effect when they released the DVD.

Star Wars: A New Hope (1977)
Who Framed Roger Rabbit? (1988)
It is no secret that Jessica Rabbit is one of the most sexualized and racist animated characters out there. But what really gave her this reputation is that man Who Framed Roger Rabbit? fans said that she went commando for the entirety of the film. One of the most paused scenes in film history was her little “Why Don’t You Do Right?” number. This red-headed beauty showed off her figure by twirling and kicking on the stage as men watched her and tried to keep their cool.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit? (1988)
Total Recall (1990)
Total Recall is a 1990 action thriller that starred Arnold Schwarzenegger. He played a construction worker called Douglas Quaid who wondered why Mars always appeared in his dream. Soon enough, he realized that a fake memory was implanted in his mind by people who wanted him dead. There are many wacky scenes in the movie, but this one takes the cake. Viewers paused and replayed when a three-boobed lady appeared n the screen. “Did I just see what I think I saw?!” many viewers probably wondered. There were lots of bizarre scenes in the movie, but this part has cemented itself in pop culture. After all, how can you not pause when you see something like that on the TV screen?!

Total Recall (1990)
Teen Wolf (1985)
Before Teen Wolf was adapted for the TV screen, people adored the 1985 film with the same title. Michael J. Fox starred in it and played a misfit who found out that he is a werewolf. The film boasted rom-com, fantasy, and coming-of-age elements all in one. It made it to the list for a scene that took place just before the credits. Scott Howard, the main character, won a basketball match and the crowd cheered him on from the bleachers. This is the sort of thing that you can expect from a high school movie, but the weird thing was that there was a guy with his trousers and underpants down!

Teen Wolf (1985)
Spider-Man (2002)
The first Spider-Man film came out in 2002. There has been a number of adaptations since then, but some people still believe that the original is the best of them all. Toby Maguire played the superhero before Tom Holland and Andrew Garfield got their shot. Is there a kissing scene more famous than the famous upside down kiss between Mary-Jane Watson and Peter Parker in this movie? We really don’t think so. On top of that, there is a brief period when Kirsten Dunst’s shirt revealed more than necessary. We can see why this is considered to be one of the most paused scenes in film history!

Spider-Man (2002)
Aladdin (1992)
When we watched films on VHS, many people did not catch onto the subtle Easter eggs hidden by the animators. Back then, the inside jokes would only be passed on by word of mouth. Now that we have streaming services, animators need to step up their game! In Aladdin, you likely did not know that there was a hidden Easter egg when Aladdin used a wish to turn into a prince. As Genie flipped through his book to fulfill the request, he pulled out a crab. It was actually Sebastian from The Little Mermaid! How awesome is that?

Aladdin (1992)
The Cabin in the Woods (2011)
This group of friends went to a cabin in the forest but had no idea that there were backwoods zombies to rain on their parade. They had no other choice when an organization manipulated them into an underground lair. There was a scene that made all horror fans pause. We are talking about the scene when two scientists contemplate about what to do to the group. There was a whiteboard that a list of names of various zombies, mutants, witches, and clowns!

The Cabin in the Woods (2011)
She’s the Man (2006)
Not a lot of people know that this movie was based on a play by William Shakespeare! The plot of She’s the Man follows that of Twelfth Night. In the film, Viola dressed up as her brother Sebastian in order to land a spot on the male soccer team. When the jig was up, Sebastian had to pull down his pants to show everyone that he was a man. Viola, on the other hand, lifted up her shirt to show them that she is female. We are sure that people could not help but hit pause then and there!

She’s the Man (2006)
The Wolf of Wall Street (2013)
The Wolf of Wall Street followed Jordan Belfort, a stockbroker in New York City. In the ‘90s, he was able to build a fortune thanks to penny stocks. There are prostitutes, drugs, and crashed choppers in the film! Viewers thought that Martin Scorsese had a lot of creative liberty, but he just followed a memoir written by Belfort himself. However, we do not know if the scene in which Margot Robbie seduced Leonardo DiCaprio actually happened. At any rate, we know that it made our jaws drop.

The Wolf of Wall Street (2013)
American Pie (1999)
There was a certain type of high school comedies that came out in the late ‘90s and early ‘00s. American Pie might be the pioneer of this. The films were exciting, wild, and free. The cast had the likes of Sean William Scott, Alyson Hannigan, Tara Reid, and Jason Biggs. You probably know this scene very well. Nadia, a foreign student, took off her clothes in front of a webcam because she thought that she was alone. No doubt, this was a scene that had people pressing the pause button.

American Pie (1999)
American Beauty (1999)
Here is one of the most popular movies of the late ‘90s! American Beauty had many iconic moments such as this one. Lester, the protagonist of the film, had been sitting in a crowded basketball court as he watched cheerleaders perform a dance routine. He soon fell into an infatuation with a lead cheerleader portrayed by Mena Suvari, who was also in American Pie. As he continued to watch her dance, her spotlight shone brighter and everything else faded to black. What an iconic scene!

American Beauty (1999)
Cruel Intentions (1999)
This was a movie that felt like the mysterious sibling of American Pie. The film had the best stars of the generation, but they all had to play malicious teenagers. Sarah Michelle Gellar played Kathryn and dominated all the scenes that she appeared in. We added this movie to the list thanks to the scene in which she taught Cecile all about kissing! Most lessons are boring, but not this one.

Cruel Intentions (1999)
Grease (1978)
There are plenty of incredible scenes in Grease. This high school classic is amazing thanks to the entertaining plot and catchy songs. However, there was a scene that turned it all upside down towards the end. The new girl was a goody-two-shoes, and there was even an entire song dedicated to her innocence. However, she went through a complete makeover in the end. She showed up in tight leather clothes that definitely shocked people when they first watched it.

Grease (1978)
Dirty Dancing (1987)
Do you remember this iconic scene in Dirty Dancing? It has since been recreated many times. The climax of the movie showed Jennifer Grey going right into the arms of Patrick Swayze as “Time of my life” played. This is easily one of the most recognizable in any film. Have you ever attempted to recreate that pause? No need to lie, we are sure that you have at least thought of doing it.

Dirty Dancing (1987)
Signs (2002)
M. Night Shyamalan was already a household name when Signs was released in 2002. This film revolved around aliens that descended from outer space. The viewers had to wait a long time to see the aliens, but they did not disappoint when they finally arrived. They even brought the house down. A news anchor presented footage that showed the long green aliens to the world. It was quite terrifying even though we knew that it was completely fictional!

Signs (2002)
Sleeping With Other People (2015)
If Alison Brie is in a film, you can expect a wild scene at one point. When she starred in Sleeping With Other People, viewers got to see her deliver a provocative dance sequence. The actress played a girl who reunites with Jake, an old college pal that she used to be intimate with. It was pretty inevitable for them to hook up once more. The dance definitely did not make things any easier for Jake!

Sleeping With Other People (2015)
The Seven Year Itch (1955)
There is no way that we can not talk about Marilyn Monroe when it comes to the history of Hollywood. The actress might just be the biggest sex symbol the industry has ever seen! We are sure that you are already familiar with this image. In The Seven Year Itch, a strong breeze blew her white dress as she walked over a grate. She then innocently laughed as she covered herself. It was the perfect balance of exposure and modesty. This was done so effortlessly that we can’t help but admire her!

The Seven Year Itch (1955)
The Graduate (1967)
The Graduate is the story of a man called Benjamin Braddock. After graduating from college, he moved back to live with his parents. Even though he could not find a life direction, he did get seduced by someone twice his age. However, he eventually fell for Elaine, her daughter. The plot caused some controversy when it came out in 1967, but it also had one of the most iconic scenes ever. We are talking about the moment that Mrs. Robinson locked him in a room and stripped. What makes it so iconic would be the priceless expression on the face of the main character!

The Graduate (1967)
Iron Man (2008)
When it comes to Easter eggs, Marvel movies can be compared to Disney films. Just take a look at Iron Man. There was a scene in which viewers got a glimpse of a film that came out three years later. Captain America fans caught this one even though it was very subtle! As Tony Stark was putting on his suit, you will see the shield of Captain America to the left. How cool is that?

Iron Man (2008)
The Wizard Of Oz (1939)
Being a timeless classic, The Wizard of Oz is loved for a lot of reasons. Including its heartwarming message, memorable characters, imaginative world. and catchy sing-along songs. And even though it brings a lot of pause-worthy moments, there is one that stood above others. It is the scene where Dorothy and her friends are skipping cheerfully on the Yellow Brick Road. A dark figure is shown dangling from a tree in front of them. There were rumors that it was a cast member that must have committed suicide. In reality, it was just a huge bird.

The Wizard Of Oz (1939)
The Lion King (1994)
Here is an example of just how quickly rumors can spread when they are posted n the internet. Many parents were shocked when there was a PG-13 word in the movie. We are talking about the moment that Simba, Timon, and Pumba had been gazing at the stars as they lied down on the rock. It got so out of hand that an animator had to explain. It was not really a dirty word because it said “SFX” to pay tribute to the art and special effects folks who worked on the film!

The Lion King (1994)
Fight Club (1999)
There are many scenes in this movie that deserved a pause, but we are not talking about the ones with less clothes. We are talking about the times that Brad Pitt first appears before the introduction of his character. It is easy to miss these things thanks to how fast they can be. If you watch it again, make sure to be on the lookout for him. He appeared six times before the narrator met Tyler Durden on the plane! Among others, he was one of the waiters in a TV ad and appeared when the narrator made photocopies.

Fight Club (1999)

A lot of people assume that Jurassic World is just another action sci-fi thriller. However, let us not forget that it is also hilarious! There was one scene that had viewers doubling over in laughter. Over the course of the film, people waited to find out if Neo is “The One.” Morpheus lets him know that he is special when he rescued Neo. The Matrix (1999)
She’s The Man (2006)
Do you remember She’s The Man? Actress Amanda Bynes played a girl who disguises herself as a guy to get into the male soccer team. Towards the end, she pulled up her jersey to show everyone that she is really a girl. We are sure that boys and even some girls tried to get a better look at this scene.

She’s The Man (2006)
The Little Mermaid (1989)
It has been a while since Disney exclusively made 2D animated films. The Little Mermaid is one of our favorites from that era. There are plenty of innuendos and inappropriate references back then that you will notice on a rewatch. If you need an example, go to the scene when Ariel got her human legs. Considering that this was a children’s movie, the audience got to see too much.

The Little Mermaid (1989)
Tron (1982)
Even though it has received a reboot, the original Tron will always have a special place in the hearts of its fans. In one scene, the main character Ed Dillinger was seen with a Pac-Man gameplay! If you do not believe us, you should check out the screenshot below. What a nostalgic shot!

Tron (1982)

As Superman was engaged in a fight in space, he passed a satellite with the Wayne Enterprises logo on it. What an amazing little detail.

Man Of Steel (2013)
Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)
Do we really need to explain just how many incredible moments there were in Raiders of the Lost Ark? Any fan of the franchise will remember Dr. Rene Belloq, one of the villains. He was played by Raul Freeman in the first installment of the series. We want you to focus on the scene in which Belloq conveyed some great lines even though a bug crept towards his mouth. That’s good acting at its finest!

Raiders Of The Lost Ark (1981)
Burn After Reading (2008)
You can expect a lot of violence if you are watching a Coen Brothers film. Just watch Burn After Reading if you want to confirm this. There was a scene in which George Clooney finds Brad Pitt hiding in the closet. Without any hesitation at all, he shot him dead there and then. However, it took place so fast that you will need to pause it in order to really absorb what just took place.

Burn After Reading (2008)
Finding Dory (2016)
Everyone seems to adore Finding Nemo. It finally got a sequel in the form of Finding Dory thirteen years after it hit the silver screen. Many fans were surprised to see one of the villains in the first film in the second installment. Darla, the niece of the scientist, appeared in a photo on the wall while Dory was being quarantined. This is a great nod to a great scene in the original movie!

Finding Dory (2016)
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004)
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy is full of inside jokes and insinuations that might escape your notice on your first viewing. The restaurant was called Escupimos en su Alimento, which probably made Spanish viewers laugh out loud. In Spanish, this means “we spit in your food.” This is a great detail that makes us wish that we spoke the language. Oh well, thank god for Google Translate.

Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy (2004)
Back To The Future (1985)
If you are a diehard fan of Back to the Future, you are probably already aware of this sign change. We all know that Marty McFly and Doc Brown got together at Twin Pines mall to go back to 1955. Near the end of the film, McFly was being chased and accidentally hit one of two pines. When they got back to the future, things have changed. The name of the mall was changed due to his actions!

Back To The Future (1985)
Bohemian Rhapsody (2018)
This might just be one of the greatest cameos in an epic movie. In Bohemian Rhapsody, Adam Lambert appeared as a trucker approached by Freddie Mercury while questioning his sexuality. We do not blame you if you did not recognize Adam Lambert because of the mustache, bushy hair, and makeup. What makes it even better is that he has toured with Queen as the lead singer since 2011.

Bohemian Rhapsody (2018)
Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)
There is a subtle part that deserves a pause in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Michelle, who is played by Zendaya, can be seen on the bleachers reading Of Human Bondage. The book by W. Somerset Maugham came out in 1915. It is interesting to hear that the story revolves around an orphan boy who had to live with his aunt and uncle. We are sure that this sounds very familiar to you!

Zootopia (2016)
Zootopia is a lovely and hilarious film that can be enjoyed by people of all ages! The main character in the animated film is a rabbit called Judy Hopps, who decided to try her luck and unexpectedly makes the cut for the police force. This is a cute detail that you will want to check! There are plenty of animal-based puns in the movie. If you look closely, you will notice the Fur Fighters, Kanine West, Hyena Gomez, Guns’n’Rodents, and Fleetwook Yak. We commend the animators for their effort.

Zootopia (2016)
Jaws (1975)
We cannot think of a horror movie more iconic than Jaws. This Steven Spielberg classic has terrified people for decades and continues to do so to this day. The first scene depicted the death of Chrissie. Things started to go downhill from then on. Many audiences could not believe that something like this happened in the initial scene. To be fair, this one is not a moment that made people want to pause and rewind. Instead, it made them eject the VHS and get out of the room as soon as possible.

Jaws (1975)
Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)
Reddit users realized that there was an Easter Egg that they missed in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. It urged the netizens to spread the word about it. Near the start of the film, the titular superhero drew up a list of things that he needed to do to catch up with the world. The list is actually different based on where the movie is being shown in! DavinderB, a Redditor, made screenshots to show everyone this amazing little discovery. Clockwise from top left, these ones are for the United States of America, South Korea, the United Kingdom, and Russia.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)
Tarzan (1999)
Before the start of the millennium, the world was treated to Tarzan. The plot charmed us all, while the soundtrack made us swoon. Did you know that this animated film has a crossover with a different Disney movie? Feel free to guess which one it is! If the cup and teapot look familiar to you, it is probably because they happen to be Chips and Mrs. Potts from Beauty and the Beast. Do not ask us how on earth they ended up in this jungle with all of these gorillas. We want to know the answer to that interesting question as well.

Tarzan (1999)
Suicide Squad (2016)
Here is a crazy scene that many viewers could not help but hit the pause button for. In Suicide Squad, actress Margot Robbie impressed us all by playing Harley Quinn. She is best known as the female partner-in-crime of the infamous Joker. We were blown away by her impressive performance. However, the scene that made our jaws drop would be the time she lifted her top. It is not at all surprising to hear that many people clicked the pause button when this came on.

Suicide Squad (2016)
Deadpool 2 (2018)
Our favorite anti-hero hired an oddball group of superhumans known as the ‘X Force’ to help him out. The Vanisher happens to be one of the most skilled members of the team. He has to power to turn invisible! In a quirky scene, he and the others jumped off a plane with parachutes on. However, many of them die before they reached the ground. For a moment, his true form was revealed as Brad Pitt!

Deadpool 2 (2018)
The Crying Game (1992)
This thriller was set in Northern Ireland and had amazing performances. Jane Davidson played a nightclub singer called Dil. The notorious scene that we want to talk about involves her. Fergus, an IRA volunteer, bonds with a British hostage. When he is murdered, he visits London to look for his girlfriend. In one scene, Dil let him know that she was transgender. This made the viewers do a double take!

The Crying Game (1992)
Passengers (2016)
For all the observant Kubrick fans, there were plenty of nods in Passengers about The Shining. Apparently, director Morten Tyldum is a huge fan of the older director and wanted everyone to know this through the set design. The robot-bartended looks a lot like the bartender in The Shining. The bow-tie and waistcoat look so similar! However, this is not all. The carpet in the bar looks exactly like the one in the hallway of the Overlook Hotel as well.

Passengers (2016)
