The Crying Game (1992)
This thriller was set in Northern Ireland and had amazing performances. Jane Davidson played a nightclub singer called Dil. The notorious scene that we want to talk about involves her. Fergus, an IRA volunteer, bonds with a British hostage. When he is murdered, he visits London to look for his girlfriend. In one scene, Dil let him know that she was transgender. This made the viewers do a double take!

For all the observant Kubrick fans, there were plenty of nods in Passengers about The Shining. Apparently, director Morten Tyldum is a huge fan of the older director and wanted everyone to know this through the set design. The robot-bartended looks a lot like the bartender in The Shining. The bow-tie and waistcoat look so similar! However, this is not all. The carpet in the bar looks exactly like the one in the hallway of the Overlook Hotel as well.
