Did you know that in 2013, the 8th most influential and powerful person was Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah? Not much surprise there. This award was determined by Forbes magazine. According to the quote in the esteemed mag, “King Abdullah holds the keys to Islam’s two holiest sites, and the world’s second largest oil deposit of some 265 billion barrels, amounting to about 18% of global reserves”. Among the richest countries worldwide, Saudi Arabia holds the 20th spot, with the country’s market value of $727 billion putting it there.
Making History
Nour Al-Fayez made history when she became the first woman to be appointed to the inner circle of Saudi Arabia’s government called the Majlis al-shura. Her appointment as Deputy Minister for Women’s Education was from King Abdullah himself…Incredible!
