To say the least, the situations concerning her birth mother are pretty challenging. It has been debated several times if Zahara really intended to communicate with her birth mother or not. However, Angelina Jolie stated during an interview that Zahara’s biological mother had died of Aids back in 2009. She continued to say, Talking about “Zahara’s mother died of AIDS, so they would not have had any funds to send her to school.”

Nonetheless, back in 2017, Daily Mail online stated to even have questioned Mentewab Dawit Lebiso, Zahara’s birth mother. She informed the British newspaper that as she was conceived through rape, her mother had then put Zahara up for adoption. “Angelina was more of a mother to her than I have ever been,” Lebiso mentioned during the interview. “Since she was a baby, she has been with her, but that doesn’t mean I don’t miss her,” she added.
