Michael sought to dismiss his anxieties about his eye color by convincing himself that he was insane. Brown eyes might have come from anyone in his family line. After all, it couldn’t be that rare. He made an effort to bring all of his children and family together. They held little get-togethers regularly to expose Emma to the world, and one guest frequently came by more than the others.

Michael recently had a visitor who turned out to be the nephew of one of his old pals. His name was Benjamin, and while in preschool, Michael would give him rides home from school. He even brought him to a club to celebrate his 21st birthday! Michael appeared to be quite attached to the guest, even calling him “little Benjamin” once.
