Fran Charles began his career as a beat journalist working on sports coverage in Ohio. He then snagged his first anchoring job in Boston, which then caught the eyes of HBO. The network hired him as a blow-by-blow announcer for boxing. He went on to cover the PGA for USA Network, NBA for NBC, and MLB for MLB Network.
