An Ironic Death
As it turns out, Shemp died in a car. However, it wasn’t in any kind of collision. In November 1955, he went to see a boxing match with a friend. Afterward, they were driving home together. As Shemp told a joke and lit himself a cigar, he suddenly slumped over, dead. The friend was sure it was a prank, but sadly, it was not.

Did you know that Curly Howard was responsible for coining a lot of the Stooges’ phrases? This included nyuk, nyuk, nyuk; nyahh-ahhh-ahhh; a WISE guy, eh?; say a few syllables; oh, look; I’ll moider you; and soitenly. After his death, the other Stooges continued using Curly’s favorite expressions.
