Tom Selleck officially joined the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund in February 2009. It was around the same time that he also became the spokesperson for the Education Center at the Wall, whose office is located in the National Mall.

When asked about his current career and present role in the TV show Blue Bloods, Tom Selleck mentioned that he was fascinated by the fact that his character and on-screen family were devoted Catholics. Selleck was not a religious person, but he loved the role nonetheless.
