Beauty is pretty much a personal thing but there are occasions when we can reach a consensus that something is just….well, ugly. Throughout the years, different car manufacturers have come up with different car designs, so there is bound to be one or two that are a miss. To honor these monstrosities, we have made a list of the ugliest cars that were ever made.
2004 Covini C6W
To start things off is the Covini C6W. Despite having an excellent 400 hp engine, this 6-wheeled vehicle is pretty insect-like and this car’s appearance, to be honest, is quite odd. It may have the extra wheels to make braking better and help with balance, but the design of this car is too weird to ever take seriously.

2004 Covini C6W
Marcos Mantis
British manufacturer Marcos specialized in sports cars but they actually produced relatively ugly cars. Nevertheless, it appears that the Mantis takes the cake for the worst looking car they have ever made. Thankfully, there was only one Mantis released back in 1968 and before long it was retired. It last appeared in the 2008 Festival of Speed.

Marcos Mantis
Troll Sportcoupé
This is the result of Troll Plastik & Bilindustri’s attempt to make a fiberglass bodied car. The Norwegian manufacturer used fiberglass since the material is lightweight and has several benefits, such as being rust resistant. This car’s engineering was fine, but its design was an utter failure. The production of this model only ran for a few of years, between 1956 and 1958. The next model wasn’t quite as bad, but it wasn’t exactly pretty either.

Troll Sportcoupé
Hyundai Tiburon
This car has been given several names though its official one is Hyundai Tiburon. In Europe, it was known as the Hyundai Coupe. Fun fact: Tiburon means ‘shark’ in Spanish and to be honest, this car looks like a pretty unfortunate-looking shark.

Hyundai Tiburon
Stutz Blackhawk
This Stutz monstrosity named the Blackhawk was first produced back in 1972. Even 40 years later, it is still a mystery to us what aim the designers had for this car and why they made it 19 feet (almost 6 meters) long – a size that was definitely ridiculous. Aside from the hideous exterior, this abomination was far too expensive back then, over $120k in 2017 dollars. As it turns out, the king of rock ‘n’ roll, Elvis Presley, adored this car.

Stutz Blackhawk
PT Cruiser
Chrysler is a decent car manufacturer overall, but they surely made a big blunder with the PT Cruiser. Let’s face it, this one is a fail. Despite the fact that we don’t really know about this car’s performance, from what we see, its design is an absolute disaster.

PT Cruiser
Brubaker Box
Whoever came up with the name for this abomination should be recognized for naming it accordingly. Honestly, the Brubaker Box is quite an ugly car and it looks like an awful van that came to life after being drawn by a child. It’s literally a strangely-shaped box on wheels. It has been compared to a gold Klondike bar. Despite how you see it, this vehicle might be handy in case of an unexpected nuclear war but we have to say that we’ll skip this one.

Brubaker Box
Reliant Robin
This little mishap somehow ended up looking like a mix of a motorcycle, a boat, and a car, and not in a flattering way. In 1973, they created this car as a replacement for the Regal. Even though the Reliant Robin was among the fiberglass cars that were the most popular ever, these days, Top Car Magazine included this car in their list of the ugliest in the world. We have nothing else to say about the Robin other than it’s ugly.

Reliant Robin
2010 Veritas RS III
Before the year 2010, Vermot AG took a long break from the automotive industry, about 60 years or so. However, they attempted to make a comeback that year, though we really wish they didn’t. The car that they created, the 2010 Veritas RS III, looked like a monster. Its hideous design made it look as if someone messed with buttons and accidentally summoned the demon car.

2010 Veritas RS III
The Nissan Cube
If you ever wished for a car that resembles an actual cube, then this car is perfect for you. However, you should know that the rest of us don’t want a cube for a car, so we don’t understand why Nissan decided to design this car this way. We have to admit, though, that the name Nissan Cube is very appropriate, but we’re not sure that is a compliment. Even though this car was produced back in 1998, you can still see the occasional Cube on the road to this day.

The Nissan Cube
Weber Sportscars aka ‘Faster One’
Switzerland created this disastrous car in a lame attempt to take over the top spot for the fastest street-legal car in the world in 2008, a title held by the Bugatti Veyron. This car was called the Weber Sportscar and also the Faster One. Unfortunately, the design team might not have managed to figure out what they wanted with the design before this car’s release, which could explain this failure. Even though car designs have improved by2008, it is clear not everyone got the memo.

Weber Sportscars Aka ‘Faster One’
Panoz Abruzzi ‘Spirit of Le Mans’
This is a very good example of what a sports car shouldn’t have when it comes to the design. As if the horrendous exterior wasn’t bad enough, this abomination came with an appalling £330k price tag. The plan was to produce only 81 units of the Panoz Abruzzi ‘Spirit of Le Mans’. However, this car thankfully never got to see the light of day, since it naturally died at the prototype stage.

Panoz Abruzzi ‘Spirit Of Le Mans’
Citroën Ami
You may associate France with perfume, fine wine, and fashion, but this car shows they aren’t perfect. In the year 1961, Citroën made the Ami but we wish they hadn’t. Its oversized headlamps, not to mention the odd body shape that they called the notchback, did nothing for the car’s poor design. Whenever we look at the Citroën Ami, all we can do is sigh sadly.

Citroën Ami
Fiat Multipla
We are truly at a loss for words when we see this…creation, and to think Fiat was the one that decided to design and make the Multipla this way. They did this on purpose! In 1998, this car was released and it ran until 2010. Even today, a few of these still roam the streets. Imagine someone holding in a sneeze – this is what the car version might probably look like.

Fiat Multipla
The Aurora
One fine day in the year 1957, a Catholic priest just decided to build the safest car ever. He made the decision to do so because of the high death toll from car accidents. His idea was excellent, though the execution left a lot to be desired and the outcome was the Aurora. We’re actually curious if anyone told the priest how ugly this car is.

The Aurora
2011 Nissan Leaf
This question needs to be asked – doesn’t anyone at Nissan know what sort of cars they’re releasing? As you can see here, this model is another example of what happens when an innovative design goes wrong. Although we respect them for making attempts at creating new and exciting cars, this isn’t how to do it.

2011 Nissan Leaf
1973 Austin Allegro
We are aware that this car was pretty popular when it was released but looking back, we don’t know why. It does look a lot like a box on wheels. Were there very few options for family cars during the ’70s? Anyway, let’s just be thankful that the designs of cars have gotten way better since then.

1973 Austin Allegro
1959 Ford Anglia
This car just proves that even the best still make mistakes sometimes. The 1959 Ford Anglia may not be the worst we’ve seen, but it is still quite awful. Its awkward body shape isn’t quite boxy but its styling wasn’t done well either. Overall, this design gets a 2/10 from us.

1959 Ford Anglia
1990 Chrysler Imperial
All we can think of when we see this car is a hearse. The 1990 Chrysler Imperial came with a black, boxy design that seemed fitting for a funeral. Thankfully, Chrysler’s designs have improved since then.

1990 Chrysler Imperial
1975 Ford Granada
If a box on wheels with a grille is something you would like to drive, then this is the perfect car for you. Otherwise, you would also be left scratching your head how Ford designed this model. It appears as though the inspiration for the 1975 Granada’s design was literally a box.

1975 Ford Granada
1957 Trabant
An idea sometimes seem good at the moment of conception but as time passes by, you realize that it’s total trash. Here we have a prime example – the 1957 Trabant. Even though it may not be the worst we’ve seen, it’s still bad enough to be included in this list. Everything from the body shape of the car to the colors used is just wrong.

1957 Trabant
1996 Suzuki X90
It appears that every single bad idea car designers ever came up with had been incorporated into the ugly little thing dubbed the 1996 Suzuki X90. It isn’t only uncomfortably small, but it also looks as if it had been meant to be some kind of a sports car which was cursed with quite a hideous exterior.

1996 Suzuki X90
1973 Oldsmobile Omega
Ever wondered what it’s like to drive a cowboy car? Well, you’re in luck seeing as the 1973 Oldsmobile Omega is the embodiment of the idea. It’s a car that has a bad design and has a pretty unfortunate look.

1973 Oldsmobile Omega
2007 Jeep Compass
We’re pretty sure Jeep deeply regrets this one. Despite the fact that the brand is mostly synonymous with cool designs, they seriously made a big blunder with this one. The sharp Jeep design is classic for good reason, but the 2007 Jeep Compass somehow looks like its inflated version.

2007 Jeep Compass
1986 Hyundai Excel
Remember the cars you drew as a kid which practically looked like bricks? No need to imagine what they might look like in real life because all you need to do is take a look at this car. The 1986 Excel was definitely not the best way for Hyundai to get their manufacturing career started. Fortunately, since this incident, the car company has made a lot of headway.

1986 Hyundai Excel
AMC Pacer
When the AMC Pacer was released back in 1975, it was very popular at the time. The press called it ‘unique’, ‘bold’, and ‘futuristic’. In response to the 1970s gasoline crisis, AMC made an electric version of this car. To be frank, we can’t figure out the reason for this car’s popularity. Looking at it, we only see a strange-looking car.

AMC Pacer
Renault Fuego
French design studios may have produced some of the most awesome classics in the 1930s but by the early 1980s, the French seem to have lost their touch. The Renault Fuego was clearly a sad attempt to make a sports coupe. Just like other ugly cars, this car gets uglier the more time you spend looking at it.

Renault Fuego
Pontiac Aztek
Owing to its unfortunate exterior, the Pontiac Aztek has become sort of a favorite when it comes to ugly cars. Its design seems as though three designers put it together reluctantly and without speaking to each other. The car’s design has too many elements that are different and don’t really work together.

Pontiac Aztek
Nissan S-Cargo
While Nissan may have wanted a retro-style look for this van, it ended up looking very snail-like and we have to say it isn’t a good look for a car. Sure, the S-Cargo probably gets the job done with regard to hauling stuff, but let’s face it, no one would want to be caught driving this car.

Nissan S Cargo
Sebring-Vanguard CitiCar
It might be hard to believe but this peculiar looking box was once among the electric cars that were the most popular in the U.S. Its top speed is 39 miles per hour so we can see why it didn’t quite catch on back in 1974 when it was released. For some reason, they thought it was a good idea to have a golf cart-inspired design. What’s more, they actually went with it.

Sebring Vanguard CitiCar
Lightburn Zeta
Straight from Australia, the Lightburn Zeta was even smaller than a Mini but its styling was that of a ’50s Cadillac. Its body was fiberglass, so it allowed the designers to become more creative. Unfortunately, the Zeta didn’t really benefit from this. Its design was less than adequate and driving the car wasn’t fun since the engine wasn’t good.

Lightburn Zeta
Toyota MasterAce
The Toyota MasterAce seems to be the Japanese sibling of the iconic Volkswagen microbus. In fact, the MasterAce was the early response of Toyota to Chrysler’s minivan which was released in 1983. While Toyota is an outstanding car manufacturer, this van simply isn’t good looking.

Toyota MasterAce
Subaru BRAT
BRAT is an acronym which stands for Bi-drive Recreational All-terrain Transporter. However, we have to say that the acronym suits this car far better than its name. The Subaru Brat was manufactured in the ‘70s and we’re definitely glad that it isn’t around anymore.

Subaru BRAT
Plymouth Prowler
We don’t think it’s just a coincidence that the Plymouth brand died not long after they released the Prowler. It was the brand’s attempt to create an American hot rod that was ’50s inspired, but it just didn’t work. Surprisingly, even with its unfortunate design, a Prowler still cost serious money these days.

Plymouth Prowler
1948 Studebaker Convertible
While the 1948 Studebaker Convertible isn’t the worst we’ve seen, it still isn’t great either. It looks a lot like a generic 1950s convertible which got downsized unsuccessfully.

1948 Studebaker Convertible
Chevrolet SSR
A convertible truck is just not a good idea, unless you are into clown cars, of course. The proportions of this two-passenger Chevrolet are unbalanced and awkward, which make it look a lot like a stretched balloon rather than a stylish truck.

Chevrolet SSR
Chevrolet HHR
The HHR is a bad ripoff of the PT Cruiser. Chevrolet could have at least tried to make changes to the design to make it a little less obvious, but unfortunately we’re stuck with this.

Chevrolet HHR
Electra Meccanica Solo Ev Commuter
Don’t you think this car looks as if the designers forgot about its other half? The Electra Meccanica Solo EV Commuter is an electric three-wheeler car that is street-legal. Surprisingly, this car has a top speed of 82 mph.

Electra Meccanica Solo Ev Commuter
Sbarro 4×4 +2 Concept Car
Even though this Sbarro is a concept car, it’s too special not to include in this list. This isn’t an ordinary 4×4 since it is a 4×4 plus 2. Aside from its two extra wheels, it also has several bumpers, its appearance is monstrous and looks as if it came from outer space.

Sbarro 4×4
Jensen S-V8
For the most part, the Brits make classic cars that are beautiful and unique. However, you’re about to meet the exception – the Jensen S-V8. With its design, it looks like the car version of the monster that Frankenstein created. It seems as if they took parts from different cars and put them together to make this car.

Jensen S V8
Jetstream SC250
You can probably tell that whoever designed this car tried to make something which looked fast and cool. Unfortunately, the result doesn’t really show that. It looks as though a racing video game glitched and spat this car out. This could explain this car’s design.

Jetstream SC250
Bufori Geneva
We guess they were aiming for something like a Rolls Royce with this car but with a twist. However, it actually looks more like a Rolls Royce knockoff with its snout-like grille or one that malfunctioned and the designers owned up to it.

Bufori Geneva
Aston Martin Lagonda Shooting Brake
Have you ever wondered what it’s like to drive a noodle? Then try driving the Aston Martin Lagonda Shooting Brake. This car looks very much like a gothic hearse stretched out a lot by accident. In spite of the fact that Aston Martin usually makes stunning cars, this one is certainly not one of them.

Aston Martin Lagonda Shooting Brake
Marcos Mantis XP
Video games seem to have been really popular for quite some time now. The Marcos Mantis XP seems like it came out of a video game, only it glitched terribly on the way. The design of the car makes it look like something run over it, straight through its hood!

Marcos Mantis XP
Marcos Mantis M70
It appears as if Marcos has been quite unlucky with their cars. Perhaps their designers scrambled a lot for new designs, which explains why they decided to go through with all the designs – even the bad ones. Maybe this car was created to resemble the car in the movie Back to the Future but they failed miserably.

Marcos Mantis M70
Mitsuoka Orochi
Looking very much like an extra-terrestrial, the Mitsuoka Orochi has a design which might have been randomly put together but with the hope that the end result will magically come out beautifully. Believe it or not this car actually reached the production line.

Mitsuoka Orochi
Tirrito Ayrton R
The Tirrito Ayrton R was meant to be an awesome tribute to a renowned racing driver. However, this car has obviously fallen short. From the angular design that is too sharp to the four small headlights, everything about this car’s design just doesn’t come together. It’s too bad, really.

Tirrito Ayrton R
Ssangyong Rodius
To this day, there’s still a chance you might see a Ssangyong Rodius from time to time. If you’re wondering what it looks like, just imagine a minivan that started to transform into an SUV but ended up failing and getting stuck. You’ll see what we mean when you see a Ssangyong Rodius.

Ssangyong Rodius
Stutz Bearcat II
This car might be the perfect car for Cruella De Ville. With the excessive headlights and bumper, this car is truly fit for any supervillain and we’re pretty sure they would adore this peculiar car. Actually, had it not been for the over-the-top front details, this car might have been a cool ride.

Stutz Bearcat II
Sbarro Autobau
The debate is still ongoing – whether this is a comb or a shaver. However, we think we can all agree that this car is quite ugly. This may be a concept car that was revealed back in 2010, but it should not have gotten to that stage. This car looks like a complete mess.

Sbarro Autobau
Pontiac Trans Sport
Looking very much like a vacuum, the Pontiac Trans Sport may just win the ultimate ugly minivan award. If we say so ourselves, looking like a vacuum isn’t a good thing. Minivans are pretty good, especially if there are many kids in a family, but this one just looks awful.

Pontiac Trans Sport
Volkswagen Type 181 – The Thing
Does driving in a box without a roof sound appealing to you? Then, get yourself a Volkswagen Type 181. It’s also known as ‘The Thing’, so if you buy this car out of your own free will, then you should not act so surprised about it because its name should have given you a clue of what this car is like.

Volkswagen Type 181 The Thing
Lamborghini LM002
The LM002 is actually the first SUV which Lamborghini tried to make. However, please make them stop. This car looks as if it was broken from the inside and its hood got repeatedly hit from underneath with a sledgehammer.

Lamborghini LM002
Isuzu VehiCROSS
Whatever it is people say about this car, one thing’s for sure – it’s ugly. That fact cannot be denied. It looks a lot like a balloon that is deflating. Therefore, we can’t really blame Isuzu for wanting to get rid of this concept car even if it was only around for three model years.

Isuzu VehiCROSS
Reva G-Wiz
In spite of the good intentions (to offer an electric solution to the parking issues as well as traffic jams that cities face) in making this car, we can’t deny that it’s ugly. It looks very much like a toy car, but it unfortunately isn’t.

Reva G Wiz
1990 Chevrolet Lumina APV
Isn’t the entire concept of a minivan to maximize the space inside the car? Then this question has to be asked: why does this minivan have an absurdly long front? We’re quite sure the driver would feel as though they’re driving the car from the back.

1990 Chevrolet Lumina APV
Jeep Renegade
Over the years, a number of the best SUVs have been designed by Jeep. This SUV isn’t one of them. in fact, this looks like a rejected product from Apple, not a sophisticated SUV. Why would anyone purchase this Jeep when the company makes far better-looking ones?

Jeep Renegade
Corbin Sparrow
If driving a jellybean is something you’ve wanted, then this is your chance. The Corbin Sparrow may seem more like a motorcycle, but it is still a car technically. Therefore, it deserves a spot on this list.

Corbin Sparrow
Bond Bug
We know this car’s name isn’t connected with the famous British fictional spy, but let’s face it, James Bond would never drive this car anyway. This three-wheeled car looks a lot like a vacuum. It might be hard to believe but this car was actually created to be a ‘fun car’?

Bond Bug
1961 Amphicar
The Amphicar is another experimental model. It seems that the manufacturers just wanted an actual car’s mini version. Aside from that, this car had the added capability of driving through water. Yes, you read that right.

1961 Amphicar
1996 Pontiac Grand Am
The ’90s was a time when Pontiac had a serious obsession with plastic and proof of that is the Grand Am. Clearly, they neglected its design since it looked like a Tupperware container. In addition to the horrendous styling, the Grand Am itself wasn’t great either. Its 4-cylinder engine could produce 150 horsepower.

1996 Pontiac Grand Am
1993 Ford Aspire
Ironically, this car was named Aspire but practically no one aspired to own it. Aside from this car’s horrendous design, its mechanics are equally bad, if not much worse. It has a 4-cylinder engine that would have been better off used in a sewing machine since it could barely produce 60 horsepower. This car also came with a 5-speed manual transmission.

1993 Ford Aspire
2010 Chevy Aveo
It is clear that Chevrolet was making an attempt to free itself of the subcompact cars which were jellybean-shaped. The exterior design of this car, however, is less than appealing while the interior is worse. Its interior was cheaply made and seriously lacked soundproofing.

2010 Chevy Aveo
1992 Subaru SVX
Subaru is known for making dependable and practical cars that can do practically anything. The SVX, unfortunately, isn’t one of them. In addition to its useless 4-speed transmission, this car’s exterior looks like it was made by accident. This Italian-designed model’s split windows-within-windows were difficult to use. As if that wasn’t bad enough, this car cost around $10K more than the other Subaru models.

1992 Subaru SVX
1997 GM EV-1
It’s nice to know that GM had the initiative to make an electric car in 1997, but the EV-1 had a terrible style and a top speed of about 80 miles. What’s more, it was only for leasing. It’s very unlikely for you to see an EV-1 on the street as GM gathered practically all of the units back in 2002.

1997 GM EV 1
1992 Ford Probe
We all know that plenty of cars have unfortunate names, though the Ford Probe has got to be among the top ten with the worst name. This shoe-shaped car looks as though it was meant to be sleek and look fast but it ended up looking like a UFO which never took off. Actually, Ford and Mazda created this model together. You may think that they would create a great car, but the Probe had a weak FWD mechanism and V6 engine. That fact did nothing for its sales and the car was eventually taken off the market just eight years after it was released.

1992 Ford Probe
1989 Geo Metro
Another product of a collaboration, the Geo Metro was built by GM and Suzuki. This car’s 3-cylinder engine was naturally slow seeing as it barely could put out 50 horsepower. Its interior was obviously made cheaply, and the exterior design makes this car rather bean-looking. All the same, many owners who have this model claim that they’ve driven their car past the 250,000 mile mark, which means this vehicle was built to last.

1989 Geo Metro
1999 Toyota Echo
Remember that car you didn’t want to get when you went to the rental car agent? Well, the Toyota Echo feels like that car. The Echo drove like a go-cart. Attempting to accelerate was very much like stepping in mashed potatoes. What’s more, both the exterior and interior of the car are bad. To be honest, this car looks like car sized fat gummy bear on tiny wheels.

1999 Toyota Echo
1998 Land Rover Discovery II
British built cars are famous for being iconic but as you may already know, there’s always an exception to the rule. Case in point: the Land Rover Discovery II. In addition to its many electrical problems, the box-like design makes the car look as if it was meant to be driven in a safari and not on city streets.

1998 Land Rover Discovery II
1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Convertible
As you can see, the design of this convertible is just terrible. The bulky B-pillar of this car and its Tupperware box shape would make you want to have the top up permanently.

1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Convertible
1995 Chevy Monte Carlo
Back in the early ’70s, the Monte Carlo might have been cool but since then, this car looks a lot like a boring spaceship. As if that wasn’t enough, the lame-looking car had a badly performing V6 engine and it was front-wheel drive.

1995 Chevy Monte Carlo
2012 Dodge Caliber
You would think a car built by several car manufacturers would be great, but not in this case. A front-wheel-drive hatchback, the Dodge Caliber has a dark interior and a lot of blind spots. In addition, its 2.0L engine, named the World Gasoline Engine, is terrible. What’s more, this car’s exterior design is very boring, with the typical boxy appearance that Dodge seems to favor for the most part.

2012 Dodge Caliber
1999 Jaguar S-Type
When Jaguar reintroduced the iconic S-Type back in 1998, everybody in the automobile industry gave a collective sigh. This car’s design is simply yawn-inducing. It seems as if Jaguar had attempted to combine classic car designs but failed. Even when this car was released, many perceived it to be awkward and outdated. Therefore, it’s surprising that succeeding in holding up until 2007.

1999 Jaguar S Type
2009 Smart ForTwo
This European micro-car may look like it’s a great idea to own for those who live in the city but in reality, it’ not that great. The only advantage of this vehicle is its size. Apart from that, it’s pretty awful. To start off, its transmission is quite vague and searching, and it has bad fuel economy taking into account its size. However, the car’s exterior is even worse, with the paint constantly peeling and the design itself making this car look like a kids’ toy.

2009 Smart ForTwo
1997 Daewoo Nubira
We don’t really blame you if you struggle to remember this vehicle. Another collaboration, the Nubira’s design is pretty underwhelming and its inline 4-cylinder engine is quite weak. To top it all off, the car’s build quality was terrible, with the interior wrapped in nasty plastic.

1997 Daewoo Nubira
Sir Vival
The concept car Sir Vival was created in response to the lack of safety in Detroit back in the ‘50s. during that time, the creator described this car as a “revolutionary vehicle”. Even though this car didn’t make it to the production line, it had innovative safety features, such as sliding doors, seat belts, rubber bumpers, a roller cage, and side lights. Having said all that, its most noticeable feature was its two-part frame, which probably was the car’s downfall, we think. In theory, this car was a wonderful idea, but the execution when it comes to the design is pretty unfortunate seeing as it looks a lot like a vacuum cleaner.

Sir Vival
1941 Horch 853 SportCabriolet
Actually, Horch had made the 853 SportsCabriolet this car way before Audi did. This was among the later cars the brand produced. While many of their cars had classic themes, this car conversion is pretty unique. While this isn’t the car’s original state, it still once existed, so we had to add it to this list. This vehicle would be an ideal work car because of its 4.9L straight-8 engine. The modifications, however, give it a cicada shell look. We bet that glasswork turns the interior into one giant oven as well.

1941 Horch 853 SportCabriolet
1957 Jeep FC-150
At the time, Willys Motors released a series of four-wheel-drive trucks that were new for the company. These workhorses were highly-maneuverable as well as revolutionary at the time. Even though we respect the innovation in these trucks, we just have to say that we’re glad Jeep cars don’t have this look anymore. This truck looks a lot like an incorrectly made toy.

1957 Jeep FC-150
1947 Julien MM5
Produced between 1947 and 1949, this French convertible got the green light from the French government due to the shortage that France was facing. For the same reason, the government also freed up the necessary materials. Having said that, only a few were made and got fitted with various engines over the years. The performance of the car can be described as “acceptable” at its best. However, the one thing we have difficulty getting past is its design. This car looks like an insect, literally. Maybe the classic Volkswagen Beetle inspired them?

Julien MM5
1965 Peel Trident
Built by Peel engineering, this three-wheel micro-car’s design was all new and very different from that of the Peel P50, which had one seat. Shockingly, they designed this car with two seats. The big question is: did anyone actually spend their hard-earned money on this car? We’re not even sure if you can call this a car because it looks a lot like a board game piece.

Peel Trident
