The Elephant In The Room
Julia continued to teach while avoiding the elephant in the room. She was well aware of the snickers and mumbles that accompanied her through the corridors and play area. And her coworkers had begun to treat her with suspicion, attempting to treat her as if she were frail but unwilling to confront her about her attire. She was aware, however, that she would have to persevere. She was determined to complete the course. As a result, she lowered her head and walked as best she could.

As you might expect, Julia was surrounded by questions about whether she was too strange to be a teacher and if her behavior was having an impact on the students. The principal also spoke with a few parents, attempting to persuade them to attend a committee meeting. Was Julia going to get in trouble because she wore the same outfit every day? She did not, however, break any rules.
