For a while, Jack had lived in this apartment, so he had gotten used to all of its quirks, but it was small and gross for Laura. Little by little, the paint on the walls chipped off, it was always cold and heat-less in the winter, and there was no one to help keep up with the maintenance. Even so, Laura held onto the hope of getting them through this with their love.
