Even though Laura was devastated by the news she had just received from her husband, the joy she felt was such an overwhelming sense of happiness because she had just won the lottery. She began to think of all the things she could do for herself with all this money instead of dwelling on how sad she was. Would she travel the world, buy a fancy car for herself, or do something else with cash just for her?

Laura’s Letter
The first instigation for Laura was to begin answering Jack’s letter with her own. She addressed the message as, “Dear Ex-Husband,” and poured out on this sheet of notebook paper all her feelings. She told him exactly what the punch-in-the-gut feeling of reading his note gave her and how he wasn’t a good man or a good husband, even though they had been married for seven years.
