Born on the 7th of July in the year 1980, Michelle Kwan was born to her loving parents on a lovely Californian summer day. Her parents were Danny and Estella Kwan, aspiring and loving parents who immigrated from China. They lived in Torrance, California.

Because of Ron and Karen, Michelle’s siblings, she also started to have an interest in sports that are ice-skating related. Due to the influence of her siblings, it sparked something in her that led the 5-year-old Michelle to follow their footsteps.
