Beach emptied
Despite protests, the beach was cleared with surprising efficiency. Agents maintained a strict perimeter, making sure no one lingered. “Move along, please,” they repeated, pushing stragglers away. Robert and his sons made their way to the parking lot, glancing at the now empty beach. The patrol was keeping a close watch, their presence reminding them of the strange events of the day. When they reached the car, Robert felt a mixture of relief and concern.

Robert returned home
When Robert and the children arrived home, Lucy was standing by the door. “What happened, are you okay?” she asked, running to hug them. Robert nodded, trying to reassure her. “We’re fine, but it’s been crazy.” Lucy looked at Katrina’s hand, her face full of concern. “What’s that?” she asked, pointing to the blackened spot. “I’ll explain everything,” Robert said, leading them inside. Lucy’s anxiety was palpable, but she was relieved to have them safely home.
