Jessica Campbell
Jessica Campbell, who played the lead in and later worked as a physician, passed away on Dec. 29 of unknown causes at the age of 38. Campbell is best known for her role as Tammy Metzler in the 1999 dark comedy opposite Reese Witherspoon and Matthew Broderick, for which she received a Best Debut Performance nomination.
Phyllis McGuire
The last remaining member of the McGuire Sisters, Phyllis McGuire, died from natural causes on Dec. 29. She was 89 years old at the time. The McGuire Sisters, which included her siblings Dorothy and Christine McGuire, dominated the 1950s until 1968, when Phyllis’ controversial relationship with mobster Sam Giancana caused them to split up. Sugartime, an HBO film about the love affair, featured her.
