On August 29th, 1985, Prince Charles and Princess Diana met Pope John Paul II at the Vatican for the very first time. Many people gathered outside to catch sight of the meeting. The experience was such a beautiful one, it’s no wonder so many photos were taken. This photo shows the royals with the Pope. To pay her respects, Princess Diana wore a black lace veil over her hair to keep to the modest code.

It’s a known fact that the Reagans were good friends of the royal family. During an official visit to the White House, President Ronald Reagan and his wife, Nancy Reagan, welcomed the Prince and Princess with open arms. This meeting took place on November 9th, 1985. We can see that Princess Diana decided to wear a striking red skirt suit for the occasion. It featured a white collar along with white buttons to soften the bright color of the elegant outfit.
