Storm knew it was his time to shine and be a hero for the community, and he didn’t shy away from the task. He ran head-first right into the frigid cold water as soon as he knew there was a problem he could potentially solve.

Golden Retrievers are known for being extremely sweet and gentle dogs and knowing how to help people or things in danger, and Storm proved these traits to be correct on this day. He followed his instincts and saved the day.

As dogs do, Storm paddled his way to the shore bringing the object with him. Even before the dog’s paws hit the sand at the beach, Mark could already see the object wasn’t an object at all, but some kind of creature.

In a viral video that captured the incident, you can hear Mark calling over to his dog and encouraging him to bring the animal to him in spite of not being able to identify yet what species Storm had found. Mark can be heard saying, “Good boy, Storm,” and “Here boy, here!”
