Most people do not know this fact because they do not see it happening very often, but deer are actually usually quite strong swimmers. Of course, like any living creature, some are better at things than others.

For the most part, a deer can usually swim and keep itself afloat. The problem today was that the cold water and the waves were making it difficult for this deer to help itself out.

Making his way to the two animals emerging from the water, Mark felt worried for the deer. With regard to Storm, it seemed as if some paternal switch had been turned on in his canine brain seeing as he appeared to be trying to bring the shocked deer to its senses.
