They kept their cool, but Rain seemed puzzled and frightened. Everywhere, Eldad and Loreta assumed she had settled down already. But then, she did bark and scamper. Her wails grew intense once more. The dog found it hard to adjust and take everything that happened on that day. The trauma probably kicked in again.

She allowed Eldad to pet her after a while. It was a massive step for both the rescue workers. After all, in the early part, she was completely afraid of them. Rain let her take her in the vehicle, although she still appeared apprehensive and careful. The trust was there, even though it wasn’t stable enough.
