When you see an animal in a kind of pain, you can’t probably imagine what you might feel. Numerous rescue workers cope with it every day, but their perseverance isn’t really for nothing. Several rescue organizations aim to protect and rehabilitate abandoned animals. One of them is Hope for Paws. There arrived one day when they received a phone call on a car park for a German Shepherd. Be cautioned, and this is indeed a tale that can touch your heart and give you tears.
It Was Cowering Beneath a Car
When the call came in, it was a rainy morning. The caller reported that in a parking lot she had found a German Shepherd mix! It was reportedly hidden under a car and avoided people. The German Shepherd must have probably experienced trauma for acting that way. We’ll never know.

Try To Lure The Dog Out
The names of Hope for the Paws members who visited the site where the dog was seen are Eldad Hagar and Loreta Frankonyte. They even grabbed a cheeseburger before they went to it. You’ll later discover why this would be important in this story. The founder of the organization is Eldad. Hope for Paws focuses on the restoration of animals in distress throughout the region.

Try To Lure The Dog Out
Avoiding Contact With Humans
The German Shepherd that they found was hidden under a large van. It seemed as if it remained away from human interaction. She was definitely scared and chosen to be away. Loreta inched near to show to the dog that they had food Thinking that it would help them get the attention and trust of the dog.

Avoiding Contact With Humans
Proceed With Caution
She really doesn’t want to frighten the dog away, so she approached carefully and slowly. And besides, the dog was likely to flee. It was important to prevent violent responses if they just want to save her. With the German Shepherd’s situation, it is quite hard for her to trust anyone. It is evident in her actions when people are trying to approach her.

Proceed With Caution
No, Thank You
Loreta was trying to get pretty close to the huge but frightened furry friend. As she appears to have done, the dog began sobbing like an individual! It must have been completely frightened of them. You can see that this the poor dog was also homeless, and no one has been taking care of her.

No, Thank You
Never Heard Something Like It
When you see the organisation’s YouTube channel, the video says: “At first we thought she was hurt, but she cried because she was so scared..” You can watch this clip, called ‘Homeless German Shepherd cries like a human! I never heard this!!!’ and hear and witness it yourself. The video will most likely probably go viral because of the unfortunate event that had happened to the dog and how they managed to save her.

Never Heard Something Like It
Slowly But Surely
Although the dog doesn’t really want the cheeseburger straight away, after a little while she cried a little less, she decided to try the cheeseburger eventually enough. Even though she was still weeping, she seems quite relaxed. But Loreta was still too concerned. You can’t remove that feeling from her as this has been her work ever since and she knows better than anyone.

Slowly But Surely
Mystery Dog
They didn’t know the backstory of the German Shepherd. They do not have any idea that the dog was capable of attacking them or not. Although Loreta wished to really lend a hand her disadvantaged hound, she also had to be extremely cautious. It was essential for her to think about her security initially.

Taking Baby Steps
When trying to deal with a frightened animal, it is crucial to building trust. It was a reasonably massive dog, making them a little more cautious. And besides, when the dog decided to attack them, it would probably get chaotic. Not knowing the history of the dog when you’re trying to earn their trust is indeed challenging.

Taking Baby Steps
Capturing
How exactly are they going to get the German Shepherd out without neglecting their safety and security? One strategy is by using a technique to make capturing an animal more comfortable. Many wildlife institutions use a piece of rope with a tip hole. The head of the dog is intended to pass through the opening of the tip. That’s a perfect way to be able to remove the dog from where it’s located.

Capturing
Attack Mode
If a dog’s afraid, it doesn’t take much to provoke it. Mostly when they think you are quite getting close to them, they attack you. The very reason why dogs act that way is that they do see you as a threat to their safety. It does take time to earn their trust; it is not something that you can rush. If you do so, you’ll probably be in danger.

Attack Mode
Bribery
The pair brought a cheeseburger to make it much more manageable. They anticipated using the snacks as a lure to take the dog out from the hiding spot. It is not so dissimilar from fishermen who use tricks to entice fish! They needed it since they know that just by interacting and talking to the dog won’t do much. If they wait until the dog comes out, they would probably waste their time.

Bribery
Not Interested In Her Cheeseburger
It is relatively uncommon for animals in such situations to stay hidden even though the food is already in front of them. The pair thought so too, and they found it very strange. Usually, when the animals are offered food, they would go out from where they were hiding and take the bait.

Not Interested In Her Cheeseburger
Scared & Wary
This scenario implied the dog was terrified of people that she could ignore her starvation! And besides, in relatively short order, almost everybody would have done a burst for the snacks. For Loreta, it was quite shocking. For the longest time, she had been rescuing dogs from different places. It was indeed one of the unique experiences she ever had.

Scared & Wary
Much Longer Than They Expected
Just a little more trust and confidence would make this rescue operation possible. We are glad that Loreta and Eldad didn’t abandon this dog. There’s been, of course, no way they did this by force. Their love and care for unsheltered animals and abandoned ones gave them the patience to get the dog out of its current situation.

Much Longer Than They Expected
Trying To Help
Loreta tried to get the lasso through the neck of the dog. However, seeing how the dog handled the situation, she decided to give up on this tactic. The animal was terrified of what was happening at the moment. It is evident in her actions after Loreta tried to do what she was doing. You can see that the dog experienced a tough time.

Trying To Help
She Ran
Loreta didn’t want to upset the german shepherd any further, as it was also now afraid of its wits. The dog scampered off after she removes the lasso. It was an opportunity to attempt another way. The duo had to develop a new technique for the accomplishment of the rescue operation.

She Ran
Looking For A Safe Spot
The German Shepherd Mix likely assumed the safest location is right behind the van between the two buildings. Eldad, however, stopped her strategy by placing up the net. The duo is hoping that this plan will work this time to take the dog and give it a proper treatment immediately.

Looking For A Safe Spot
Bringing Her To Safety
The dog indeed came out at some point. Eldad and Loreta were there to help put her to protection when she did. It had become a question of patience and persistence. Fortunately, they had the heart to clear their timetable for that day. It had taken a while before they managed to get the dog out, but it was definitely worth the wait.

Bringing Her To Safety
There For The Long Run
Eldad was guarding one of the exits, while Loreta stayed focused on the other. Eldad managed to capture the overall mission with his mobile device. The two Hope for Paws representatives were committed to helping this poor animal. They didn’t seem to mind having to wait for her out of her hiding place.

There For The Long Run
She Continued To Whine And Cry
Even after being rescued by the members, the German Shepherd continued to whine, but later she started listening to Loreta. The rescue worker tried to trick the animal out. We are sure it’s not easy because the dog’s howl was heartbreaking to hear. You will know that the dog’s in pain and is frightened when you hear it.

She Continued To Whine And Cry
Getting Calm
She kept low her large ears. She could thus reveal to Loreta how terrified she was at the time. They let her give her more time to loosen up. Pretty quickly, she began to look less frightened! She just needed time to adjust after all that happened to her in the streets and that day.

Getting Calm
Cowering
Once the dog was better behaved, Loreta succeeded in gently placing the hook around her neck. She still was acting panicky, but they eventually caught her. It was an excellent sign. Afterward, they had to send the animal to the vet for just a little assessment. Of course, they did not know where the dog came from, so it is only reasonable and needed to check her.

Cowering
Coaxed Out
They have been delicate and cautious when the dog was coaxed out. The duo was still afraid to scare the dog more. Even if she moved, she moved very gradually. Loreta and Eldad were compassionate and patient with her because it allowed her to move as she delighted. Doing things like this indeed require a lot of patience and heart for animals.

Coaxed Out
Encouraging Her
The poor animal had to be reassured as much as necessary. They nourished her encouraging words and allowed her to give her time. Animals may be brittle, too. This is particularly true when trauma occurs. It’s harder for them to have it as they can’t communicate what they feel, aside from showing it through their actions.

Encouraging Her
Coaxing Her Out Of There
The staff members of the organization all agreed to call the newly rescued german shepherd, Rain. After all, they did find her on a rai day. She had her tail tucked between her legs all the time, showing she wasn’t still comfortable and have entirely loosened up, but at least they have made progress.

Coaxing Her Out Of There
Tucked Tail
Even though they were able to get the German Shepherd out of her hiding spot, it can clearly be seen that she was still frightened and terrified about what’s going on at that moment. She has experienced trauma, and leaving the spot she marked safe was indeed a big step for her.

Tucked Tail
Finally Making Progress
For safety reasons, Eldad put one other leash on the dog. He also managed to give her pets on her head and wished she would realize she was secured. She took his pats. Afterward, she finally went into the cage! The mission was indeed a success. It wouldn’t be possible without the patience and hard work of the duo.

Finally Making Progress
Still Afraid
They kept their cool, but Rain seemed puzzled and frightened. Everywhere, Eldad and Loreta assumed she had settled down already. But then, she did bark and scamper. Her wails grew intense once more. The dog found it hard to adjust and take everything that happened on that day. The trauma probably kicked in again.

Still Afraid
Apprehensive
She allowed Eldad to pet her after a while. It was a massive step for both the rescue workers. After all, in the early part, she was completely afraid of them. Rain let her take her in the vehicle, although she still appeared apprehensive and careful. The trust was there, even though it wasn’t stable enough.

Apprehensive
Uneasy
When they went to the vehicle, they managed to keep a slow pace. Rain might have cooperated, but she did the very least. Her body language was uncomfortable. She still was going to yelp and leap. It would appear that she’s not entirely convinced that her rescuers will not endanger her.

Uneasy
Reluctant
Finally, Rain was brought into the cage they intended to put in. This was actually their plan to put her in a cage before driving her to the clinic where she would be taken care of and get tested to check her health, etc. In addition, she had to bathe!

Reluctant
Seeing A Friendly Face
The name of the person who requested help is Cary Linnell. She waited by the cage and even kept it open. After seeing this sight, Rain did not enter the cell. She slid down into the arms of Cary! It only showed that they had bonded even before Cary asked for the rescuers’ help.

Seeing A Friendly Face
Familiar Face
It started to look like Rain and Carey already know each other. It was obvious that this dog trusted her because she didn’t seem to mind that this woman was giving her pets. In addition, she went with no hesitation to Carey. The bond between them was apparent and seen by the rescuers as well.

Familiar Face
Help However They Could
It could be that she wanted to emphasize how thankful she was to Carey. Whatever that was, everybody did think it was a magnificent sight. Eldad and Loreta have been full of hope and reassurance. For this poor little german shepherd, they wanted what was best, so did Carey. That was the very reason she called the help of the rescuers.

Help However They Could
They Couldn’t Believe It
Rain needs confirmation that everything hit would be okay. She then surprised her human companions by heading into the cage without being pressured into it. She made huge progress extremely fast! It was all because of the presence of her friend, Carey. She might have felt secure when she saw Carey that day.

They Couldn’t Believe It
Getting In The Cage
Neither of them anticipated Rain to go so easily into the cage. She seemed to be comfortable. Perhaps she could finally admit she was going to be protected. She seemed much calmer anyway after seeing Carey and being in her arms before being taken away.

Getting In The Cage
Checking It Out
It was perhaps the cushions there, or Carey’s sight, that made her feel comfortable and safer. Eldad and Loreta were nevertheless happy to see the progress that happened after what happened. She began to sniff all around the cage and take a glance at the people who rescued her.

Checking It Out
Calm
Rain was better behaved than before when she was finally in the cage. She didn’t cry anymore, and she finally appeared calm. Loreta was surprised by the development shown by this dog. From being entirely terrified to being so calmed after seeing her friend. It was indeed a big help in her progress, obviously.

Calm
Almost Happy
Above all, the dog smiled and waved her tail a bit. Maybe she really started to see that from now on it would only get better. Eldad and Loreta both began to wonder what Rain had already experienced to fear people. It must have been very bad, whatever that was. Given the expressions, she had shown them while they were trying to take her out.

Almost Happy
Curious
When the enclosure was cautiously relocated into the vehicle, Rain almost seemed intrigued that she continued to look around and examine her surrounding environment. She has better behaved in the enclosure. Rain must have understood she was safe and protected because she was in there anyway.

Curious
Rain Got A Burger And A Bath
Rain finally had the chance to enjoy the sandwich inside the cage and even waved his tail a little too! Now, she’s prepared and reliable to go to the veterinarian. She also would get tender loving care, spend the day in the doggy spa, and have plenty of Loreta hugs and kisses.

Rain Got A Burger And A Bath
Becoming A New Dog
Rain was now excited about the new chapter of her life after some pampering and assessments. Like any animal in the world, Rain surely deserves the opportunity to live with a family in a good home, who will take good care of her and manage to keep her protected. Every animal deserves love and protection.

Becoming A New Dog
She Enjoyed The Attention
She was indeed a scared pooch earlier the same day, however after a hot shower and hug and kiss. She was like transforming herself into quite a new furry friend. She came to realize that all these people were not harmful and, instead, wanted to keep her safe and sound.

She Enjoyed The Attention
A New Dog
It was Rain’s first spa treatment, obviously, and she loved it absolutely! She was welcomed with warm water and the very soft hands of her masseuse. Rain let the suds ran down her nose, and by the looks of it, she was really enjoying it. After her treatment, she was just like a new dog!

A New Dog
Re-Learning The Ropes
They definitely did have contrary, good intentions! You could say that this dog used to be a pet, even though she had no chip on it. This implied that the dog once grew up knowing what having a family to take care of her was like. If she really was once a pet, she knew exactly how it felt to be loved and spoiled.

Re-Learning The Ropes
Getting Used To TLC
It was simple to see just how she adapted to what it was before somebody else came to start caring for her. They also questioned earlier Rain’s probable reaction towards them after being taken cared of for a while, and to their surprise, she was really happy and trusting just a few hours after meeting the two.

Getting Used To TLC
Cozying Up
Once she was showered and fixed up, she wanted only to snuggle up and have some fun with Loreta. Unexpectedly, she acted like an entirely different german shepherd! In the mere hours, she was at the vet; Rain became a lovely and affectionate cup. The difference was huge that they couldn’t help but notice.

Cozying Up
Transformed
It was just hours before Rain began to adapt and take it easy. She had become an entirely new dog and all she needed was a cheeseburger and a nice clinical shower in the vet. Loreta was surprised how lovely Rain was just when she thought she is not near any danger.

New Starts For Rain
The best thing is yet to come for Rain. Someone inquired about her two weeks later. Was this finally a very deserving opportunity for Rain to join a caring family of people who will look after her and protect her?
