Aside from her music award collection, she also received a nomination for the most prestigious award for actors, an Oscar. Her song “9 to 5” was featured on a film with the same name as its soundtrack. The cast was no other than Dolly Parton, Jane Fonda, and Lily Tomlin. What an impressive lineup! She got another Oscar nomination in 2005 for a song in the movie Transamerica. The movie was about a transgender woman and her teenage son.

The song “9 to 5” was absolutely about the 9 to 5 setup that most people have during work days. This may be the reason why people are not so surprised about the fact that, in her own right, Dolly Parton is actually a great businesswoman. She actually has a lot of investments in the businesses of Eastern Tennessee. Of course, those include her Dollywood theme park, and “Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede!” The later is a dinner theatre show which tours around the United States of America.
