The Perfect Excuse
The man went on and asked Lily Powles what drink she preferred to have. The woman replied, “Surprise me.” Afterwards, Lily Powles sent messages to her friends and had gotten distracted. The woman was worried that her friends had not yet arrived and were already running late. A few minutes after, the familiar man returned together with both of their drinks. He slowly placed them down on the wooden bar.
