If you read the books and watched the movies, you might have noticed that the latter did not always stay fateful to the source material. Padma makes up half of the Patil twins, although she is in Ravenclaw while Parvati is in Gryffindor. In the movie, they were both in Gryffindor! At any rate, she eventually proved that she was on the side of the good guys when she joined Dumbledore’s Army.

Mind you, Afshan Azad had no professional acting experience before she took on the role of Padma. She has admitted that she only auditioned for kicks. In the end, she landed the role and did a great job at it. However, she has not been active in the industry since then. After she was done working on the set of harry Potter, her father and brother were charged after they threatened to kill her. She was only 22 years old when she was mixed up in this legal battle. No doubt, she is one strong woman!
