This actress might have played the mother of Harry Potter himself, but she did not have a lot of screen time. Even though she is rarely on the screen, she did have a huge part in the life of the titular character. We only saw parts of her younger years through the memories of Harry and other people. When Voldemort found the Potters in Godric Hollow, she tried to save her baby by shielding him. This actually saved his life multiple times in the series! However, her backstory ended up protecting him more than anything.

Even before she joined the cast of Harry Potter, Geraldine Somerville was already active in the entertainment industry. Before that, she was best known for playing Detective Sergeant Jane Penhaligon in Cracker. She also took on smaller parts in the Titanic miniseries and a BBC miniseries called Quirke. Aside from those roles, the actress also played Lady O in Goobye Christopher Robin (2017).
