Thomas dialed his bank’s number. For whatever reason, the payments did not appear in his bank account. He was starting to feel the pinch without this steady stream of income because he had a family of his own. What the woman on the customer service line said, on the other hand, made him see red.

His new tenants had not made any rental payments at all. He dialed their number angrily, but no one answered. He kept calling, assuming that the father of three was preoccupied.
