Mike pretended to be perplexed and began scanning the surrounding area as though seeking a bathroom. His easygoing manner worked as the ideal disguise, keeping him undetected. His aim was adequately served because the nurses didn’t appear to notice him. While feigning to be lost, Mike leaned in their direction and listened carefully, hoping to learn something about the meaning of the wristband without raising suspicions.

Despite the possibility of being overheard, Mike managed to get a glimpse that left him feeling sick to his stomach. According to one nurse, “The wristbands… specific protocols,” she remarked quietly. When he heard “protocols” linked directly to those enigmatic wristbands, his mind went into overdrive since he knew he shouldn’t be here. Despite being a minor component of the puzzle, it increased Mike’s level of suspicion. With his heart racing and more questions than answers, he took a step back.
